Shane, we're very pleased with the MORryde/Comfort Ride combo. Actually think the Truck rides smoother towing than running solo.
It will really get a workout starting next week. Headed over to Michigan then on to the UP across over into Wisconsin, on up into Manitoba, over to Saskatchewan, back over to the International Peace Garden to pickup or Polar Bear Express Caravan which takes us up to Thompson Manitoba, we then fly up to Churchill for three days of Polar Bears searching, then back to Winnipeg, then work our way back to Sebring Florida for the Winter.
So we should really know how well the new combo works by the time we're thru.

Summer Projects

Since we are "Halftime Fulltimers" (we live on lake all summer and in the RV all winter) I have a lot of free time in summer to do repairs and updates. I had hot water blending into my cold, RW forgot to install a check valve,fixed that. I just insulated the front cap area, installed a new slide out drop down TV mount for the outside TV and I built and installed a storage shelf in part of the cargo hold. My unit came with a drop down TV mount but it was a fixed position design, just up and down couldn't move it for better viewing angles and glare reduction, the new mount is much better. The large cargo hold allows stacking of bins and other gear but it seems that the item wanted was always on the bottom. The shelf allows me put items like my grill and compressor underneath for easy access and lighter weight items on top. The shelf in 24" deep and is set back about a foot from the door. I constructed it like a hollow door, 3/4 x3/4 frame with a 1/4 lauan skin. The shelf rests on cleats secured to the side walls. The set back allows storing taller item at the sides. Seems to work well

Rushed things tonight and ripped out my trailer connection at the trailer box on the Air Glide hitch! Got it caught on the gap between the box and tailgate... got everything apart, cut and restripp ed but Amish wiring is beyond me. Got the blue, yellow, brown tied back in but I have 2 red leads on the trailer an extra white lead, and no black lead to tie to. Anyone got a photo of how the wiring looks. Maybe I can look at the other Redwood in the Rip Van Winkle CG here in New York tomorrow.. RW Spottinh post.

I changed to new cord last weekend.
PM me your email address and I'll send you photos. I also mapped out the wires and I'll send you that also.

Here are the wiring assignments in the junction box:

Pigtail ------->Trailer
Blue ----> Yellow w/tracer
Black ----> Red, Yellow w/Green, Orange w/black (bundle)
Yellow ----> Yellow
White -----> Yellow (2), White (2) (bundle)
Green -----> Green w/white (2)
Red -------> Red
Brown ----> Brown

Hope this helps. There are lots of plain yellow wires so if you have no point of reference, you'll have to experiment.

Mike

Cool

Since we just got ours and have not taken it anywhere, I took it out of its stall and opened the slide-outs so my daughter, her husband and three of our grandchildren could see it. While they turned on and off every light switch inside, I added screens to protect the furnace, water heater, and refrigerator from dirt dobbers, AKA mud daubers for those of you from outside the south.

Not that I'm aware of. Pretty passive. They create an egg nest made of mud that hardens like a rock on any protected surface they can find. That can be damaging to things like fans when they are being blocked.

They don't really bite but the stinger is the real business end. Those things will sting you multiple times and the sting is extremely painful. My experience with them have been less than pleasant to say the least. They are very aggressive near their nest and a little more passive while collecting mud.

Not really anything much to the RW this week except a new ice maker line but did modify my bike rack so they don't hit the ladder. Added another sleeve to it and made it solid except the one hitch pin so not much wobble anymore. Our old bikes were pretty rusted with all our trips to Myrtle Beach so picked up a few new ones for the trip to Disney later this week.

Steve, Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you probably should have used the raised offset to extend the bike rake. I did the same as you & it drug going into/out of driveways.

Steve ,

IF you are interested in renting a golf cart while down there let me know.. I met a guy several years ago who rents them.. You go out the back entrance and meet him in a shopping center , you pull his trailer into the fort , unload the cart and return his trailer.. do it all over again when returning... the carts are less than 1/2 the Disney cost.. I believe they are around $30.00-$35.00 per day

Well... came home after 6 weeks of travelling and got the rig all cleaned out... Shampooed the rugs, power washed the roof and washed the rest of the exterior of the rig over the past 2 days. Closed it up last night and went back into it this morning to retrieve some stuff we forgot in a drawer.
Main slide opened as usual... bedroom slide motors dead as a door nail. Checked fuse panel and see no issues. Is there an in-line fuse somewhere? Maybe I got the motors wet?

With motors dead, are the slides stuck out or stuck in?

If you can get to the Lci website, I believe they have a troubleshooting guide for the Schwintek system. I doubt that both motors would die at the same time.

Are you plugged in to power, is your battery switch off, did you check the control module in the basement if power to it it will blink out an error code. Low batteries can cause this, wire fell off switch or loose connection. When the slide is closed it should not get any water into the motors unless using a high pressure washer in between the lip of the slide and body. You should also find the floor damp on the inside below the motors if water is the cause

When doing a routine electrical check I noticed that the Schwintek controller spade type connections were tight on their mating male connector however several of the conductors (wires) were loose inside the spades. Replaced all the spade connectors with new T&B spades and crimped properly. Never had a problem with this system (knocking on wood) and dread the day I have to make those repairs.

Hi Shane,
Brad Paul here.. I am the one with the issue. I am not on Shore Power this morning. I will reconnect and try again. I have downloaded the guide from LCI as well.
I did use a power washer but did not get up close and personal with it except to clean the roof. I used the washer to apply soap and water and did the scrubbing with a pole and brush and then rinsed off the RV. I will check for wet carpet in the bedroom just in case.
