We’re currently at the Rainbows End in Livingston Tx. for couple more days then its off to Summerdale AL. to work in Mobile Al. for a couple weeks. Then either up to Martainsburg WV. or back over to San Antonio TX. Rather stay south. To cold up north!

We're currently at TX Lakeside RV Resort in Port Lavaca, TX. Slowly making our way to I-10 and will then head east. Saw another Redwood pull in Thursday. Haven't caught them yet to say hello.

Next week is our first trip with our new rig. We'll be in Lancaster Pa for the month of April, Woodstock NY for may, Cape May NJ for June and Lake George NY for July. The rest of the season still needs to be figured out.

Our maiden trip was to Brackenridge Recreational Park near Edna, TX. (It's only 35 miles from where we live). Really nice park. Rates are very reasonable. Full hook up and pull thru's for only $30.00. Good Sam Park.

We've been there twice, so we can check out the unit and get used to towing.

www.brackenridgepark.com/

Nice walking/biking trails. Lots of wildlife. It's on Lake Texana, but I haven't seen anyone swim in it so far.

Just spent the night at Ole Towne Cotton Gin Rv park on highway 287 10 miles northwest of Quanha,Tx, 20 miles southeast of Childress,Tx, very friendly, clean, well maintained, not a destination location, but great for a night or two.

Can't wait to get back home, get hitched up and on the road again.

Just finished planning our next trip - across Canada to the Rally, then out to Nova Scotia, down the East Coast, cutting across the US through Nashville, Memphis and Texas to almost the Mexican border. Then across New Mexico and Arizona to Indio, CA. Couple weeks rest in Indio then straight home for our son coming home from Dubai for his 30th birthday.

We would like to know where you find information Bout campground do besides the internet? Is there a book or do you rely on Good Sam or AAA? We have not joined either group yet. At what level do you recommend Good Sam if that is the best service for planning and roadside. Thank you for your help. we are getting the dishwasher and washer/dryer installed on Tuesday and will then be ready to take off.

We use Goodsam route planner and then double check with campgroundreviews.com and Googlemaps.com to verify the reviews. There's also an app for smart phones called RVparky that shows all the campgrounds around you.

We are in Cape May NJ for a few weeks, the on to Saugerties NY for a couple of weeks on to Lake George NY for a couple of weeks on to Maine for a while and back to saugerties for Sept and October.
Family is asking us to see them in South Carolina so a side trip in Sept might need to be done.

You better believe we like the heat. Other than the PDI haven't used the furnace. Left Dubai last week where it was getting too hot for us > 115F in the afternoon

Ya I remember when I was in the gulf and it cooled off to 98 at night i had a tee shirt, shirt and heavy coat on trying to keep warm. There were hotels in Dubai that had "chilled" swimming pools, that sure was nice!!

Tough question to answer because every one of us has different likes, needs and finances. Some move frequently and stay short term, some stay in one location for extended periods in one location, so your style should dictate your choices.

We are full timers who workcamp and also work with a Christian RV ministry and belong to some of the MANY camping groups; including Good Sam, Passport America, Thousand Trails. Our workcamping jobs tend to be several months and the ministry gigs are 3-4 weeks...at both of these we have free sites. We also tend to stay in one ovation for extended periods so Thousand Trails works well for us when we are in one of their service areas. For camping in route from one place to another we try to stay at Passport America CG's cause they are inexpensive.

Others on the list will report totally different patterns and their needs are very different from ours.

So of us the primary tools we use for campground searches are apps for the iPhone, our most used are Allstays Camp & RV, Passport America and Good Sam Camping.
For route planning I use RV Trip Wizard, you can set so many variables on this web based site.

We belong to Good Sam, which gives 10% discount at participating campgrounds & Passport America, which gives 50%. You have to read the small print with PA campgrounds as some have numerous restrictions - Mon to Thurs only, available for a max of 2 days, etc.

When we joined Good Sam they included a huge book listing all campgrounds. Took it with us the first trip, but it is just weight we don't need, so haven't taken it since.

I plan all our trips in advance and use RV Park reviews, Good Sam, Google maps/street view & Google Earth. From the origin I search Maps for night #1 that is 250 - 350 mls away. Then search RV park reviews and Good Sam, reading the comments. Once I find a park, I check out the roads in with streetview and check Google Earth.

It's time consuming, but I find it well worth the effort.

John - yeh, definitely was a dry heat, hadn't even reached 90% humidity before we left.
