Scott,
I have a 50 gal Transfer Flow auxiliary tank that feeds the main tank. It is federally approved. Here is the link on their website:

https://www.transferflow.com/fuel-tanks/refueling-tanks

And the PDF:
https://www.transferflow.com/Content...l%20permit.pdf

I didn't know this was an issue until you brought it up.....so I had to check it out!

Thanks,

Ken

Like travelin Texans, we do shorter runs each day, our longest is about 450 KM., under 300 miles, which leaves us with a quarter tank of fuel (enough reserve!).

It's easy to detach the RW and level it, I've got into a routine of fueling up the tow vehicle each morning before re-attaching the RW, saves the hassle of getting into some fill stations. Any more than about 450 km. is work, that's not retirement (or fun!).

I really like the Transfer Flow tank that I had installed. The tank is 70 gals, which allows me to drive all one day and into the next while towing. We are usually on a schedule to get somewhere, so I plan on about 500 miles per day.

Cool, that's the next thing I get when I get back.

I was thinking a small diesel generator would match up well with this setup, rather then using propane. You could have plenty of fuel to boondock for a week.

It fits in the same spot as the stock tank..
Are they able to adjust your fuel gauge and mileage computer for the new size tank?

I've only seen one computer on a car or truck that was accurate and that's in my diesel Volkswagen .......and aparently they weren't accurate to the EPA. What a shame but I'm not going to let them adjust mine

After VWs fiasco, just wondering what EPA is going to start with the other diesels, choke them down even more with more emissions crap.

Choke them down? My 2014 has more power, gets better mileage and burns cleaner than any of those smokey locomotives from the early 2000s do, so what exactly is the EPA doing that is impacting your performance????

I agree on today's diesels, but without some of the current emissions crap you could probably have even more hp & probably double mpg..

The VW dealer already called me but I told them not to waste my time because they weren't going to touch my Passat. I get 44 mpg at 78 miles per hour (hand calculated) and this thing is fast. I'm not going to change that.

But I don't need the additional hp but I sure could use some clean air. You can't really say you want to go back to the smoking tailpipes we had in the 60s before the EPA "crap" as you call it, do you?

I don't, but at the same time I don't want to pay the out of warranty repair bills caused by these emission controls. Only problems I've had with our TV have been emission related, and I hate to see the Fuel guage take a nose dive when it kicks into DPF Regen.
With the new blends of fuel these new breed of Diesels burn pretty clean and you can delete most of the emission stuff and not look like you're burning Coal. Those that smoke like a smoke stack are generally cranked up for max power

Nope! But as M&A just stated these newer ones with the low sulfur fuel wouldn't anyway. All those young'uns that want to "blow coal" have tuned them to do that, I just want the mpg & hp. The manufacturers could easily add a 100hp & who knows the mpg if they just tuned them differently. In Europe most of the vehicles are diesel & they weren't all belching black smoke & weren't emissioned too death.
