Worked on my POS Splendid XC ventless dryer again today. It takes 2 hrs to tear it apart to clean the lint out of the drain vent tube. I have had it for a year and a half and this will be the 4th time. The lint starts to build up in it and stops it from drying. I should have listened and cut the hole. Anyone thinking of buying a ventless.model DO NOT DO IT

Is anybody else having problems getting into this thread? For a week or so now I can only get in from the care and feeding page. My notifications take me to the main forums page.

Last week the entry door assembly, inside and outside bedroom slide seals, 1 recliner and fraying carpet on the right side slide were fixed.

Service writer was telling me how impressed with the new door I would be and how nice it turned out. They did do a great job but I took all wind out his sails when I pointed out the new door was ALREADY separating along the hinge side. Had them remove one of the hinges on the top and bottom so it would slow the separating. He said he would call RW and tell them they still have an issue with the doors.
RW told him they do NOT have a door problem. HA…

I told him they did a good job but I do not consider this issue resolved and I hope he tells RW.

Still have a J-Panel to get replaced, they forgot to order it this go around.

Lazy Days in Tucson AZ did the work. They did a good job, just slow. But I would rather they be slow and do it right.

Well, after that broken spring, I started to tear into things. Bushings gone, shackles flopping around, etc. The amount of slop that I found was absolutely amazing. So I changed out all four leaf springs and installed the Mor Ryde 4000. I know it's not the IS that has received so much praise here, but even with the upgrade to the 4000 I'm head and shoulders ahead of the pile that Lippert had installed. Never, ever will I be fooled again.

Although it's difficult to figure out the orientation of the pic on the right (I'm taking the shot looking down from inside the wheel well), this pic shows the difference between the dimension of the old and new shackle links. Just WOW!

Tom I'm glad you were able to fix the problem before do one got hurt. It's a shame though, that a 3 year old rv has to have this type of repair

I agree, Dave. What really amazes me is that the incremental cost of this upgrade would have been peanuts. Heck, someone from Lippert could have walked down the street to Mor/ryde and proposed a private label program using the sturdier equalizer.

It seems that Lippert and most of the RV industry has a huge problem with what we in the engineering world call the "NIH syndrome" (Not Invented Here)!!! If its not invented here, we won't claim it or even admit that it has any value!!!

For only a few dollars more, that suspension system could have been so much more improved in its engineering and quality. I blame it on the RV industry mentality. Redwood's relationship with most of its customers could have been vastly improved for only a few dollars more in that suspension system.

I agree with you Guy! They could have saved the money on the glitz and glitter and instead invested more money in 2 very important areas, #1 the suspension #2 answering the phone and standing behind their products.

Disc brake install update

Well left Salida, CO on Wed, hit Amarillo, then to Marble Falls on Thurs. Ron, if you read this, so glad we went with the disc brakes. Coming into Amarillo, traffic suddenly stopped in front of us. With no time to "pedal" it in, just stood on the brakes. The discs hit a second later and those SOB's locked us up and even chirped a bit. With no seat belts, we'd have been kissing the windshield. Super awesome brakes..highly recommend to anyone. Don't know if the drums would have stopped us. Ran on 6 gain on the 14 Ram using the Heavy Electric mode. Tried the electric over hydro mode, but this seems more responsive. Thanks again Ron.

Finally got this project finished. Had a slight delay waiting on some parts for the shocks. Will take it out tomorrow to see if all was worth the $'s.

Looks great Steve.. Was it a hard job to do ? I see you figured out how the lower brackets went together.... How about the U-bolts, were they long enough with the thicker plates?
