Add Shock Absorbers?

I have a 2017 3901MB, with factory (I believe) 8,000 lb axles with leaf springs and air bags. It has mounts for shocks, but none are installed. I do my best to take it easy on the suspension, and don’t tow it a lot.

Are shocks necessary or beneficial?

the more you tow it the more you would appreciate having shocks. The cost of center point and shocks I would say your over half way to getting Morryde IS. The Morryde IS is a game changer , it is bay far one of the best things many owners have don't to smooth out the ride in the truck and trailer. We leave our coffee maker and toaster on the counter, it never moves even on really bad roads. We had issue with doors and molding fall off every trip , now not one thing has come off or broken.
