Length of the shackle center to center!! The bushings are all the same I think, 2 3/8" or something.

I have 7K axles and just measured my shackles... I am coming up with 2-1/4" from center of zerk to center of zerk?? Would that mean I need the 2-1/4" version of the Mor/ryde HD ????? But the overal length of the shackles are almost 3-1/8" ??

I am wrong. Disregard this. I have a bushing which is 1-47/64" long but I think it is the wrong length. Don't have the RW here to measure.

It is not the length of the bushing, it is the length of the shackle from bolt hole center to bolt hole center.

Our stock shackles were 3 1/8" from bolt hole center to bolt hole center

The recommended shackle length from MorRyde for the SRE 4000 is the 2 1/4" from bolt hole center to bolt hole center.

Shane, the Rally has been great, learned a lot from other owners here, learned a lot from the vendor presentations, learned a lot from the Redwood Plant tour, met a bunch of great people here.

You got that right. we have a 3800 mile trip starting the end of the month to go see the kids up in canada. Should be interesting to see how this trailer makes out. I have only hauled it 120 miles from the dealer and we have had it parked in a resort since we bought it

UPDATE: I just received the following email from my service center regarding our shredded bushings:
I just wanted to give you a status update and inform you that Crossroads has denied the warranty claim to replace the shackle bushings as this is considered a wearable item and Crossroads will not participate on repairing this under warranty.

So I guess everyone should add "Replace shackle bushings" to their annual maintenance schedule. Again, we have towed the trailer less than 1000 miles (plus delivery from Indiana 2400 miles).

Awesome. And no- I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. :-(

I re-watched the ra ra rally video and you are simply being untruthful, I'm sure of it !

As the Secretary of the Board and advocates of the owners, I'm sure you know the next step is to call the GM directly. That's the standard operating procedure.

Now quit towing that thing around! You are wearing it out!

The irony is, a large percentage of our tow mileage has simply been... wait for it... to service.

I just posted a response on the ROG forum that yours should definitely be a warranty claim with only 1k on them, as in my opinion these heavy units shouldn't have plastic bushing in any part of the suspension... Mine had 20k+ & out of warranty when I replaced mine, but had I've checked them sooner I would've raised hell about it! But as I said I'm no engineer!

Thank you TT. It is unreasonable that any of the equipment in the suspension should be worn out so quickly. We have owned 5th wheels for years and years and never had to replace the bushings in the shackles! They are not a wear item especially in an essentially new unit! I mean I guess you could say that about anything in the entire trailer! Eventually everything will wear out. It's a question of what is reasonable. This is flat out unreasonable.

A plastic bushing in a spring eye beneath an 8 ton trailer is improper application and has no chance to work. Who engineers these things??

Well. We wore them out before getting the carpet dirty. Sounds legitimate.
