Heartland Landmark
I always research RVs.....my wife calls it a disease. In looking at the Landmark, I'm trying to see the difference between it and the Redwood. One of them (the twin to the 39MB) comes with an electric power card reel, 8k axles and H rated Good Year tires.
Redwood better look over their shoulder and run a little faster.

I believe there are more Heartland dealers than Redwood dealers....service should be easier.

Wow, it looks amazing... What in the world did you show me that for? Super nice interior touches. Yes, RW better take notice for sure.

Some friends of ours have the landmark and they are not without warts
His icemaker line was run BETWEEN the frame and floor so it last a while until he towed it some miles
then one day we noticed his underbelly looked pregnant
he went to pull down one panel of it and 100's of gallons of water came down on him...

Come to think of it, I have heard a few stories about them now that I think about it. I can't remember where, it was a bunch of customer complaints about serious QC issues. They were pretty serious, the ones I was reading.

As a previous heartland product owner I will never ever recommend their products. Ditched our 2012 Big Horn for our Redwood. BIG improvement and worth the extra money. I don't normally post negatives on a company but our experience was the worst nightmare in the 40+ years of owning a rv

Looked at a new Landmark in Pomona last month. They have some very neat features like The island cabinets are accessible from either side. But, I was not impressed with the decor. Also the price tag on the Landmark is $15-$20 higher than RW. I agree Redwood needs to step it up.

I'm a bit like you. I've been known to pick up a new car and stop down the street and look at another brand.

I used to be like that with cars but now I've bought so many of them....it's not fun anymore. I'm the worst type of customer for the car dealers.....not an emotional buy.
RVs on the other hand....stand for freedom.....I just love them......nice house but no property taxes and I get to change the yard anytime I want.

I had a BigHorn, and a Cyclone, and both were very nice RVs, with very minor issues.

We looked hard at several Landmarks before purchasing our Redwood.
We just did not get that "Warm and Fuzzy" feeling with the Landmark.
They are very nice 5th Wheels with lots of features but have some design elements we just did not like.
As far as cost, our Redwood's negotiated price was much lower that the best we could do on a Landmark and when I am looking at a depreciating asset, that is important to me.
With Tom Montague (Former Redwood Manager) now running the Landmark product line at Heartland, it is no wonder the Landmark taking a lot of design queues from Redwood.
I agree, Redwood needs to step up on several fronts, Quality, Product Updates / Enhancements / Features and Website Updates or they are going to get run over.

It came down to Landmark and RW for us. Ultimately, we couldn't get excited about the interior decor and went with the RW. The sad part is we had developed an excellent rapport with the Landmark dealer. Given today's Landmark interior schemes, it might be an easier choice.

We too developed a very good relationship with a Landmark dealer, in the end we just did not get the "Warm and Fuzzy" feeling in the Landmark.

I have a lot of respect for Tom and his abilities. Since he's at the helm I'm sure they'll make a transfirmation. He was the one that was fighting for the 2/5 year warranty on the Redwoods. Now that he's gone so is the warranty that he was fighting to keep.
I love the idea that's there's competition between several companies all fighting for the golden title of "premium full time rv". As long as there's competition, there's going to be growth.
A few years ago, only the premium rv's had full body paint.....now several do. In a few more years, the dreaded stickers on a rv will be a thing of the past.
