Worked today moving the curb side of the rear basement bulkhead back 7" to gain just a little more storage space.

I could have gained some on the street side, but would involve moving the water pump and lots of plumbing. I was able to angle that section of the bulkhead a little more to gain another couple of inches. Not trying to carry more, just spread things out for easier access. The Mor/ryde pull-out tray we added at the Rally is great the the large totes, just making room and access to some of the smaller items.
Oh, and not a Pete, but maybe a 2018 Silverado or GMC, really like everything I've heard and read about the upgrades to the '17s and have given them a year to work any bugs out.

Danny,

After taking the topper material down and cleaning it good, it looked to be in very good shape except for the seam thread to be rotting out. So, my wife and I discussed her doing the re-sewing. She is expert seamstress with a couple of very good sewing machines. I supplied her with some 20 lb test braided fishing line to use. It took us about 30 minutes to sew a new seam around the 34 feet perimeter of the topper. I set up this morning and it took me about 2 hours to re-install the roller tube and topper material by myself. It would have been a lot easier with some help, but I managed to get it done. The topper looks better than it has in a long time and seems to work better also. Best of all, it only cost me a few hours of taking it down, fixing a few issues and re-installing it.

Also saved a pile of money buying new ones. I did the same on another Don I had but did not have a seamstress, needle and wax string was what I used but lasted 4 more years until the sun finished eating up the fabric

Guy, that's great, but the material on my was beyond being sewn, I guess too many high winds in the Texas panhandle.

Guy, it looks like 5 years on RL is all you get on those seams. My topper over dinette failed couple weeks ago. When I went up to measure for new ones, the kitchen side had let go as well. I'm replacing all three and will report back how much you saved.

The topper fabric for the dining & kitchen slides were about $225 with free shipping & my labor is free. My wife is a very good seamstress also but don't have a heavy duty sewing machine & as I said mine were not salvageable.

Danny...........I would guess that those Texas winds and the fact that your coach has been out in the elements continuously would be even harder on the material. My coach has been stored inside my barn about 5 to 6 months each year.

Mike......... There are installation instructions and service instructions available on the Carefree of Colorado website for the Kover III version of slide toppers which is what mine coach has installed. I would recommend reading the service instructions for information as to how to safely remove the old material. The take up spring assembly is on the right had end of each roller tube. A 3 inch cotter pin (or nail) can be very handy for pinning the take up spring to the roller tube. Also an oil filter vise grip can be very useful for holding the roller tube (similar to this).

Removed the non-working Frigidaire convection microwave and installed a Whirlpool.




Had to cut 3/4 of an inch of the back splash. Fit great otherwise.

Got the Progressive EMS wired in also. The Surge Guard we had opened up on the second leg. Thought I would be like Steve and mount it all to a board.

Looks GREAT!!! Luckily our Micro is still working. It was replaced with a new one before it left the dealer.

Could I ask what model Whirlpool you replaced it with so when I need to it may help.

It's what I did not do to my RW Today !

Did not get her winterized in time for the cold snap. Thought I had enough propane to run the heater all night. Ran out of propane overnight. It was 16F this morning. Thermostat in the RW read 32F. Lines are frozen. Will have to see how bad it is once it warms up today and I can get propane and get the furnace fired. Sure wish there was a reliable way to read propane tank levels.
Ugh.

Thanks Steve.

Whirlpool-WMH76719CS 1.9 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Over-the-Range Microwave - Convection

The Frigidaire was replaced at the service center after the rally last year. It never worked very well. So no great loss that it died.

So far the Whirlpool has exceeded our expectations.
Only problem is the clock goes dim after 5 minutes.
Have not found a setting to change it yet.

That's the reason I only keep one tank online at a time. May have to go out in the middle of the night, but would still have a full tank to switch too.

Thanks ladies !! Great plan for the future. Fun to see an icicle hanging from the kitchen faucet. Got her warmed up, and no harm done, dodged a bullet !!

All the feedback in the interweb about propane tank level indicators was very diverse. Best was from an old geezer here at the hardware store.....cup of cold water poured over the tank....will tell you the level based on the frost line...go figure..
