4001lk
Just purchased 2021 4001lk. Interesting scenario,, unit had never sold, so purchased 2021 in 2023 at a heavily discounted $$. I have the Insignia residential fridge and can’t get the ice maker to work. The door say ON and the ice unit inside is intact. Any shutoffs hidden somewhere??
Also, unit has the dual shower head. When turned to rain or overhead , water pour out at the base. Although dealer is ordering new assembly, is there a simple fix?? Thanks in advance

On a bunch of older Redwood units, ours included, had two unlabeled shutoff valves under the sink.........one hot water for the optional dishwasher and one cold to feed the fridge icemaker. Have a look and see if this applies to the newer rigs.

We Own a 2020 4001LK and had problems with the icemaker also. Our shut-off valve is under the trash cabinet, the first cabinet to the left of the frig. Pull out the cabinet and look on the floor closer to the frig and there is the shut-off valve. On the ice maker, twist out the cube dispenser, reinsert it and ensure the cube dispenser will twist to the left and align with the small dot. No simple fix on the shower head, just use other shower head in the meantime.

Had the same issue with our shower head. First time wifey used it water sprayed from everywhere. Tightened the connections and put a clamp where they lazily forgot it. Problem solved but shoddy workmanship is inexcusable.

Our 4001 was built in January 2020 (pre Covid model) with absolutely zero issues! Keep fixing and working through the issues and I promise, you will love this rig!!

General question for 4001 owners
My wife and I really like the rear kitchen model (4001), but are very concerned about all that movement going down the road in the kitchen. When I look at reviews they are mixed. Some say they have had their fridge go bad several times from the bouncing, others talk about having to take a lot of extra time ensuring they pack the kitchen area very well, some even said they have removed items and packed things in plastic containers before traveling. Others say they have no problems. So I would like to ask those of you that own this model what is you option. Knowing what you know now would you still buy the 4001? I recently sold my 2015 38GK and am in the market for my next RW. If I don't go with the 4001 I would like to go with the 3951WB, love all that storage underneath.
Thanks

I would still have the 4001LK. We have put a little over 7200 highway miles (even California's terrible roads) and have no issues with the kitchen setup.

No real opinion, only some thoughts:
Many have upgraded the suspension to the MOR/ryde Independent Suspension.
Just wonder if the reports of no issues have that upgrade, vs those with all the problems
running OEM suspension.
Having put the IS on three fifthwheels and wouldn't own one without it, just wonder if it might help.

I actually was wondering about that also. But if I remember correctly some rear kitchen DRV mobile suites owners said they had some problems, but I bet, not as much as the OEM suspension.
Thanks for your reply.

Yes, we do have the Mor/Ryde suspension and now thinking about it would change the ride on a rolling earthquake. Also, we have the Air Safe 25k air suspension hitch.

I think having both Independent Suspension and an Air Ride hitch helps stop or control many of the travel issues.

Yes, the hitch, which I have had two during the years, a 20k and now a 25k makes a world of difference in ride quality and control.
