It is such a bad business decision, RV owners talk and make decisions based on others' experiences.
Mine should still be covered for another2 years and I would expect Redwood to honor that.

Even though Andy has moved on he was still the Prez at the time of last years rally and I would get a copy of the video for your records if needed. He tries to explain the 5 year. It's on the other site but for some reason I can not open it on my PC. Gives me some error message no matter what I try. Hopefully it's still there.

This might help in a legal battle.

Steve

We saw our problem early and only because I was following my husband and went ahead of him for a while. Had we been riding in the same vehicle I am not sure how much damage would have been done by the time we git to FL. We talked to Christian, who monitors this list for Redwood and someone above her who said they talked to the powers that be and they said they would not cover it. Not sure what our next step would be.

Christian was who we talked to a week and a half ago. She's gone?

Christian is gone. Kathy Fuller seems to be our contact now. I found an email address for her. We have not called her yet because the office is closed for the day.

Jim is Christian's dad and her husband is Jeff who was in sales. The entire family got released as well as many others. It's my understanding that Jim hired a lot of friends and now they're all gone.

Redwood apparently has high Warranty Costs and the new management team has to get the manufacturing, operational and warranty costs under control, but this is not the way to do it !!

At no time during the purchasing of our RW did I ever hear anyone mention anything about checking the screws on the roof. At no time during the delivery of our RW did anyone ever mention anything about checking the screws on the roof. (Although we were told to check the roof in general once at year, not every 90 days.) Vaughan even took Terry Cooper's RV maintenance class and again (you guessed it), no mention to check the screws on the roof. And I just read the Owners Manual. The word "screw" appears nowhere in the section on roof maintenance. Silly us for not checking the screws on the roof when we were told so many times to do so.

So now we have to crawl underneath the rigs to make sure our springs aren't breaking and climb on top of the roof (every 90 days per the manual) to check the screws (though not per the manual since, again, there is no mention of checking the screws). And isn't that exactly what we want a bunch of retirees doing?? Ah the good life!

Okay. Got it. Anything else we're supposed to be doing that no one told us about?

Seriously, it doesn't make any difference if we check everything every day, it appears there will be a reason to deny most of the time. You know, if we would just buy these things and place them in a Mobile Home Park under cover and never move them, many of these problems would not occur.

I'd love to go to the National Rally in Indiana this year, if for no other reason than to hear what new excuses management has invented.

Tracy: couldn't have said it better. First response seems to be, "what can we blame the customer for so we don't have to stand by our warranty promise". Today was a travel day so tomorrow I'm going to try Kathy Fuller.

I HATE to hear this, but it's good it is finally being posted on the forums...
IF ONLY, it would have been done earlier, it might have saved a lot of heartache for some... almost to the point of quitting RV's !!!

Lemon Laws in SOME states do cover rv's/trailers,
but, certainly the merchantability of a product is expected...
i.e. "the goods must reasonably conform to an ordinary buyer's expectations, i.e., they are what they say they are." and will allow you to do what a reasonable person expects them to do...

No matter what you do though, if you have to fight a mfg for the toaster that doesn't toast, it's going to cost YOU time, money, heartache...
and sometimes it's worth it just to move on.
