RAMN8TER,

If this helps, this is how I accessed my outside TV using Redwood cables. I just can't be sure how yours is wired, as your outside TV is in a different location than mine.

This is how I ran it - compared to the original wiring in the attached pdf.

If your outside TV is fed from the LR, then it may very well use the other side of that common satellite cable (Jumper) between TVs where I bypassed the splitter.

In the end, I didn't interfere with any of the outside antenna feeds to the system, nor did it interfere with the capability to connect a satellite antenna from the side cabinet rather than the roof.

AA,
Thanks. The more that information I'm receiving, the more I'm understanding that I will probably have to snake a cable from my bedroom to where my outside TV hooks up. Right now, that sounds like one intimidating task!!

You should ask your Dealer if they have a current satellite drawing for an 36RE with the new outside TV in the slide location. All these came from asking and it would sure help your issue.

How many coax connections do you have by your outside TV? Mine has one marked ANT and one marked SAT like shown on the drawing, both in a wall plate over the TV. If you have 2, you shouldn't need to fish wire.

There are two connections that are not labeled, however the top one already has a cable connected to it which is for the cable and antenna. The bottom one is vacant. I connected the satellite cable to that one and had no success, so I decided to disconnect the cable/antenna cable and attach the satellite cable. No luck. This is a tad frustrating. I'm not giving up!

Its the original vacant one - that one is the jumper between both the living room and bedroom TV, and a splitter that feeds your outside TV like on the drawing. That is the one I used, but you have to feed that cable from either the bedroom or living room like I did, and find the Redwood splitter and remove it and install a barrel connecter to make it a straight shot through.

Kind of tough without knowing how Redwood did the wiring for these new outside TV locations, because you can't be sure where the splitter is. Mine happened to be above the ceiling light in the bedroom like the drawing is labeled. If you don't get rid of that splitter, and feed that cable from one of the other TV locations with the satellite splitter, it will not produce anything.

Again, on my 2015...there is a coax in between bedroom and the double wall plate in the dining room hutch... The dining room hutch wall plate feeds the outside TV. The outside TV coax runs through the compartment and is connected to one of those connectors on the double wall plate. That feed is the OTA and cable TV feed. The spare connector goes back to the un-used connector in the bedroom. Does that make sense?

It does make sense. Everything you describe is how my coach is setup. So the question that I have is, where do I hook up my satellite cable in order for me to watch satellite TV from the outside.
I apologize...

Do you have a receiver in the bedroom?

OK, just saw on your earlier post about Direct TV, Genie, etc... I'm not familiar at all with that setup. I believe Brad (Atom Ant) is a good resource for that. Again, I do know that on mine there is a coax between bedroom and hutch so hopefully that helps... Good luck Jack

Ramn8ter,

I'm handicapped somewhat because I don't know Directv, but you should be able to disconnect from the genie in the bedroom, install a Directv approved satellite splitter on that cable from the roof, then feed both the Bedroom Genie and the outside Genie using that cable feed you are talking about.

Brad and Tim,
I guarantee I'm making this task harder than it seems. I'm going to our local Radio Shack today and purchase one of those splitters and find out what happens! I'll keep you posted on my progress...or lack thereof!
Thanks again,
Jack

johnboytoo,
I think it is probably too late for that, as I received these at no cost...had to sign a two year agreement. How would a wireless genie work anyway? Wouldn't I need to be connected to the internet?
All this to watch TV...geez! :-)

No, it's not too late....
you can upgrade to the wireless genie... probably online and no more than $6 per month if anything

The way it works is directv (and probably Dish too)
sets up it's own private network and connects each unit that way...
You plug one sending unit into the main unit (a dvr in my case) and the wireless genie is the receiver into the remote tv...

take a peek here - this may help -->
https://support.directv.com/app/answ...sked-questions

good luck and glad to help!

Ram,

Radio Shack may not be the best place, as they are partners with Dish. Not saying the splitters are different between the two, because I don't know, but the technology between the two is definitely different.

Only one thing worse than something not working, is something not working because somebody told you it was the right part and it wasn't.

johnboytoo,
Thanks! This seems like the route I should have taken to begin with. Oh well...lesson learned. I'll be on the phone with DirecTV as soon as I get home from work. Hopefully, I can work something out with them.

AA,
Good point! Looks like amazon.com!

We just checked our 2012 36RL for the antenna booster to turn it on/off. We cannot find any button/switch. We took the TV out to check behind it, in the cabinets beside it ..... We also checked by the antenna handle and the living room TV. All suggestions welcome.
