MOR/ryde SRE 4000

For those of you who have installed this system, was it necessary to extend the length of the electric brake wires?

I'm assuming that this upgrade would come with the heavy duty shackles and brass bushings. After the upgrade, was there any sense that the camper towed truer with less rear end movement?

It can be ordered as a SET with the HD shackle kit but does not come standard.. As far as my brake wires , I also added the Titan Disc Brake kit while under there , so no news on that. The HD shackles come with the wet bolts and the bronze bushings....And as far as the tow trueness goes , yes...met does feel like it tows truer.. Even my wife ( who said I was wasting money) commented on how much nicer the camper seemed to tow after ...

We have put quite a few miles on ours since I installed the SRE 4000 / HD Shackles and Bronze Bushings last summer. (Florida to Indiana, then to NY, then to NC, then to Ft Myers FL, then to Dallas TX, then to Knoxville TN and back to Florida where we currently are)
I would agree it does pull smoother and much better.
Have not done the Disk Brake upgrade yet but this is on our list !!

Let me be more clear...I understand there should be a better "vertical", or suspension response, and I've heard folks attest to this improvement. I've begun to notice a little wiggle at the rear end. Combine that with the fact that I know some of my bushings are shot and I'm hoping that the upgrade will stiffen up the rear end. Don't know though since maybe the entire problem is more related to bushing failure.

IF you are only switching to the SRE4000 , I suggest that you should do the HD shackles and wet bolt kit for sure... Just changing the SRE4000 will not address the plastic bushings at all..
If you can only do the 1 , , at least it comes with bronze bushings... but after placing the old stock shackle next to the HD version , you will see how you have movement in the rear of the trailer..!!! 14,000# of trailer swaying side to side on 1/8" to 3/16" thick flat stock steel... no thank you

Good to hear !! I can tell you that you will not be sorry.. now is the time to upgrade both ,as almost ALL the bolts will already be out and tires off. .

I had the guy who did my Titan Discs do my upgrades , after it was all said and done , I paid an additional $50.00 in labor to swap out both the equalizers , Shackles , AND Wet bolts...
For MY trailer:
SRE 4000 - sku 15-1196 part #SRE2-435-1 = $349.88 Makarios RV

Wet Bolt and Shackles sku 46-1880 part #UO12-016 tandem = $75.88 Makarios RV

I did the upgrade to Mor/Ryde SRE-4000 and Heavy Duty Shackles kit in August. Three weeks ago I took the coach out for a "test drive" of 120 miles on I-69. Previously in the past when going over the bridge approaches, I always felt the truck going over the approaches and the feedback from the trailer by a "kick in the seat". Now with the change in suspension, I still feel the approaches in the truck but no longer feel anything from the trailer driving at 60 to 65 MPH.

I didn't have any problem with brake wires after installing mine. I think you'll find the Easy flex, unlike the SRE has plastic bushings everywhere, not just the spring eyes and shackles. When I looked at my old one the other day, they were loose at every point.

Should the axles be aligned after this particular upgrade?

If you didn't have a problem before, I think you'll be fine. I didn't align mine and all looks good after 1500 miles.

I ask because I just had the RW aligned due to terrible tire wear on the rear, driver's side tire.

I did not align ours after the SRE 4000 install, we have probably pulled our RW at least 6000 miles since the install, no change in tire wear.
