New to this site

My wife and I are considering a new 340rl and have recently come across some very unsatisfied owners of Redwood 5th wheels. They were very unhappy with the pour workmanship and warranty service they received.can anyone help with these reviews on the Redwood product that are being produced today? Thanks AKBugman

Like with anything, dissatisfied customers are always the loudest complainers and many of them will never be happy no matter what they have, while you never hear from the satisfied owners.
There are thousands of satisfied Redwood owners, and many of us who are on our second and not because of problems, just liked a new floor plan better.

36RL 2013 for sale

We need to sell our Redwood due to health issues. We love our Redwood, but can no longer keep it. The fifth wheel is in excellent shape.

We have a 2015 RL 38 and it has been a good Coach. Few issues here and there but not more than any other RV's we have had. We have had 7 different RV's over the last 20 years but we have had the Redwood the longest.

RV definition is a big hole in the ground you throw money into.

Our fifth wheel has four slide outs. Two large slide outs in living room/kitchen area. Two slide outs in the living room. The bed is a queen.

The pin weight is about 2500 pounds. The trailer weight is about 14,500 pounds.

Having owned a '12 36RL, unless the trailer is completely empty the real world pin will be 3000 to 3500 easily as RL's are pin heavy.
We're "Most Timers" so loaded for travel our 36RL ran close to 17K, and several others who bought in the same time frame traded-in almost new 350/3500 SRW trucks for Duallies because of the weights.

When you build a lot of something, car, camper, washing machine, etc.......there will always be some lemons in the bunch. Thats just to be expected. One just has to do some detailed research on the product/manufacture they are interested in, which you are doing by coming to this forum.
Now with that being said, I absoluty love my Redwood. It has the perfect floor plan for my wife and I, and the only problem I had with it over the last 5 years was my Trailair pin box. It kind of came apart on our trip to Disney. I contacted Lippert and they paid for the temp welding I had done, and sent me a new higher quality pin box to replace the damaged one and the cost to have it installed. That impressed me.
So, as for this Redwood owner, I have been very happy with mine.
Good luck!

When shopping for ANY brand of RV you need to shop the service department as much, if not more, than the sales. Once sales has got your money they have ABSOLUTELY no more involvement in the deal, but you will be back for service at least once. When needing warranty work the manufacturer is always going to refer you back to your dealer, if their service department can't/won't/not skilled to do the work your salesman will be of no help. Depending on how the service dept presents it to the manufacturer has a lot to do with getting repaired or denied.
Whether you purchase a RW or some other brand it's pretty much the same all across the RV industry, million dollar coaches have the same issues due to using the same vendors & the same work force.

Save yourself 10s of thousands buy gently used let the first sucker take the hit on the new one. And (maybe) the bugs are worked on the pos workmanship from the factory. Seems like the new ones are way worse than the ones a few years old. My 2016 39mb was junk.

Also the bed is an easy fix queen to King or king to queen. Just need to switch out the mattress and add or remove some 1/4 inch plywood underneath. You probably want a new mattress anyway. The one blackjack posted would be nice and it should be better quality than the new ones.

We love our Redwood!! We have had our share of warranty repairs done but the people from Keystone are more then willing to help you get repairs done providing you go to an authorized service center. If you need anything major done don't be afraid to travel to find the right people for the job. Once you have the initial bugs worked out Redwoods are beautiful units. When you buy, be sure that you get a good price as it will make an other issues easier to take.

We have owned our 2013 Redwood 36 FL for six years and is the best coach we have ever owned...we love the quality, paint and interior finish of this unit and no major issues...i would recommend a Redwood to anyone over the Montana, Grand Designs or other brands...

We purchased a new 2019 3901wb. Picked it up in Nov 2019 . Many problems . Few things repaired when we picked it up. So we came back in Dec. To have things repaired. Wrong parts and the other problems haved to be look at by techrician before they can repair them. So we had plans to travel out of state so left on our trip. Several things really started to fall apart. The first night stop opened the closet and the whole rod for our hang ups had pulled out of the shelf and everything was falling down. Anyway I won't go on about everything. It is now February and we have not heard anything about repairs. At this point we are very disappointed. Poor craftsmen ship for a very expensive rig. We recommend you look very closely at the craftsmanship look past the eye candy.

We love our 2013 and have only had a few small problems with it. I've heard that the newer ones have had more issues but you can get a lemon in anything.

Really unsure who the manufacturer is. The badge on the outside says Keystone but the book on the rig says crossroads. I guess there one in the same. Really didn't want another keystone. Never were told it was a keystone when we were looking. I hope all repairs are made soon.

If you aren't handy and don't want to work on your RV maybe it's just not for you. Getting someone else to fix all the little things that go wrong while bouncing down the highway can be very expensive and time consuming.
