Awning issue

Electric awning is extended will not retract. I did not touch control, it extended & will not retract now. It also keeps blowing fuses.

the awning motor has a positive and a negative(ground) run to it, they reverse the power black becomes + and red is negative to run the motor to roll it up. You most likely have a short to ground on the black ground wire , when you go to retract it your sending 12 volts right to ground . check it for a grounded wire at the motor, mine you can disconnect it in the arm just before the drum. If the motor isn't grounded then check the wires going back to the switch , my guess is the wires going back to the switch .

A mobile tech taught me to use a cordless drill battery to apply approx 12 v to the two posts on the motor of the awning to get it to extend or retract to make sure the motor is ok and functional. Then you need to troubleshoot loose wires. On our coach, there is a pair of awning switches in the closet by the door and also on the rear basement wall. Those switches are in parallel with one another.

That mark, I've been up to the head, seen wires to unplug, will have to make up jumper wire, I blew a tire and it jerked the ground wire out about 2 ft. I think it make be in the back of breaker box, I think that may be a place to start, I pulled the switch panel out, everything ok there.
