You are absolutely right and maybe that is why the factory rep does not recommend the #8000 axle setup that would beat the %&?t out of the trailer on rough roads.

If you want the heavier rated axles may suggest the trail air air ride suspension in place of the stiff springs? The axles are not the problem its the springs they can cause your rig to bounce on...

I personaly would want to go with lighter axles...

I personaly would want to go with lighter axles because i can remove weight but the broken parts and personals can get very expensive.

From what I found out the axles are a 1200 or 1400 upgrade. As to the lug size all lippert did was to use a larger stud to hold the wheel to the drum or rotor if you have the disc brake option. So...

the E tire is a st235/80/r16 rated at around 2700 or 2800 pounds you can find Michelins rated at 3042 pounds. the G's are the same size but have a higher load rating.

I believe the axles are the same. the 8000# axles are an up grade and that is the only way you can increase your gross carring capacity. I do not think just adding the G rated tires will increase...
