For the cost of the dealer applied coating you can buy a good random orbital buffer, some pads , wax or sealant, buffing compounds or what ever and buff scratches and apply waxes and...

These are ceramic coatings, you can buy them yourself for around $150.00 for exterior and about $75 would do the interior. They last on average 3-5 years and do help protect the paint and furniture....
