Are you sure that you have water in the fresh water tank?

yes have water and in fact learnt from this forum the other day that once the overflow cuts in it will drain about a quarter of the tank before it stops, found that out the other day. Hoping I don't have a problem Saturday as will be winterizing the redwood as we have a 39 ft Durango in donna texas and leave this one in our park in Ontario. My fear is that with the air I will not get enough of the pink stuff through the system to get a complete winterization.

Just as an experiment, you might try getting a pale of water (maybe a gallon or so) and try using the winterizing draw tube to see if the pump will draw water out of the pale. That might help prime the pump. Then, try switching back to drawing water out of the tank. It would also help to see if the winterizing tube is going to work before actually using the pink stuff.

On mine I found two holes in the winterizing hose. At the factory, it wasn't stowed properly and they screwed the bulkhead through it.

The cap may be on, but may not be sealed.

I had a problem winterizing the RW last year upon our return from the south in the spring (still gets below freezing here in April!), I couldn't get the A/F to draw through the winterizing hose. Fortunately I have a spare pump and rigged it to push A/F into the RW via the normal city water inlet. Not sure why it didn't work.

I had this same problem and ended up putting a pex shut off on the weatherization line to solve the issue

And here, I thought that was called a "Winterization Line".
