The RL in particular rides better with more water in the tank. Dave taught me that trick. If you know you're going to run into crappy or windy weather and can fill the fresh tank - do it.

It shouldn't be. I fill mine frequently, especially if the weather is going to be crappy or windy. You'll be surprised how much better an RL pulls with full tank.
