I don't think properly working electric brakes...

I don't think properly working electric brakes are the or any problem. As electric brakes go thru heat & cooling cycles the magnets are de-magnetized at different rates so you end up re-adjusting...

Agree with mhs4771, if you need to change wheels...

Agree with mhs4771, if you need to change wheels go to 17.5" just gives you a margin of safety.
