An over temp blowout could happen like that. You'd get some notice of excessive temps or pressure and you'd likely pull over before it became catastrophic.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm very neurotic with the TPMS and find I check all pressures and temps frequently. Maybe I need to just start saving for some new 17.5's and be done with it.

This is why I bought a TPMS for the Redwood tires. If I have a blowout now I'm going right to the 17.5" upgrade and be done with it.
