I will give the manufacturer a call and see. Since ours sits stationary and always connected to a water supply then perhaps I do not need to worry about it. Thanks for the input.

Not real sure. I believe the Walmart is a charcoal filter which hooks to the hose prior to the trailer. They reportedly last for an entire season. Just took delivery on Saturday so am still going...

That probably would. He did advise us if we touched the filter with our hands it would ruin it. Seems like a like of trouble for something we hoped was automatic. One of those little things you do...
