Agreed, 3" screws are too long. I used 1 1/4"...

Agreed, 3" screws are too long. I used 1 1/4" which are plenty long enough. As far as using adhesive such as 3M 5200 Marine...I wouldn't feel comfortable using that on the rubber membrane roof...
