Want to Buy ASAP

We had a fire and our unit is a write off. Insurance paid $31k. That is our budget. Cash . RL or GK model. We will travel to pick up since we're stranded in the USA and need to get back to Canada. Thanks. Tough times right now and it looks like things will get a lot worse.

sorry to hear about your bad luck. The Midwest is your best bet , there are very few cases of covid19 and the states currently don't have a stay at home order . that may change but who knows! I would check RV trader on line , that's where we found ours 4 years ago. All the best and stay heathy!

Biggest thing is stay out of any big city's like New York , Boston , Chicago ( any place that has a international air port has been hit hard).

Still looking

Thanks for replying so quickly. I've been searching RV Trader daily but most dealers seem to have shuttered their doors. Nevertheless, the search goes on. Quick question, what do you think a reasonable offer would be on an asking price of $35k? Also take into consideration the current market - my guess is cash is king right now.
Thanks

I think your offer depends on what you are looking at. Year and design are big factors also what add on's have been placed on the trailer.

if you found unit that is in good shape that is $35K , I would say its a fair price to start if its 2012 or newer. Expect some issues and hope for cheap easy fix. Private sale I like to read the person to tire to figure out how low I can go with out pissing the owner off! Dealer , I don't care they are willing to steal our money so its game on with the sales dept. Private I would start at 28K and come up some if needed. good luck .

also check your tire date code before you sign on the line. Sailun or Goodyear is about the only tire I will run , most other are MAY-POPS

Great advice!

Thanks for the pointers. I've found a nice 2014 36RL at a dealer in TX for 36k. Given the current economic climate I'm not really willing to go over 28k and am wondering if waiting a few more weeks might be a good choice. Can't really go anywhere right now anyways! I also found a 2015 38gk at a dealer in NC but they turned out to be complete idiots. The internet sales manager turned it over to someone who texted me a copy of an invoice that said, msrp $69k less $30k dealer discount plus $501 don't know what. Whomever it was never even gave a name. Totally unprofessional. Sure hope I can find a reasonable private seller! I did find a guy in TX with a 2012 36RL but he was in la-la land at $40k. He figured it improved the value because he had a new aftermarket roof and new tops on all the slides. Wouldn't those be detrimental? Cheers Larry

If the new roof & slide tops were redone with RV Armor then that would be a huge plus not a detriment, that roof is warrantied for life. If just replaced the original membrane not a detriment but a bit of a plus for you.

I would want to make sure RV Armor would honor lifetime guarantee if you are not the owner that had it done.

If you're anywhere near Huston, I would check out RV and Specialties in Cypress TX. We got a screaming deal from Austin on our 2015 Cypress back in 2017. Great people and best prices I could find. I drove from California after purchasing the unit over the phone. My house was in escrow and the owner held it for me for a $1,000 downpayment until I could get to him with the rest of the money. We've been in Colorado living full time since!

Hi there. Are you still looking. I have a 2012 redwood 38 br in Louisville that just had a new axle put on. I left it there on March 12 on my way home and now I can't get it. I'm in Ontario. Let me know if you're interested.
Ron.

So, let me understand this correctly. Your looking for an Redwood RL or GK in the 31K range? What year model are you looking for?

There must be some confusion I sent the PM to BANDI. He is the one wanting to buy . We just dropped the unit at our dealer and it is ready for sale with a warranty and all.

Redwood RVs for Sale

There is also a Facebook Group with Redwoods listed for sale you might want to checkout.

Good luck in your search. We have a 2015 36FB. Similar floorpan to the RL as far as living room if you’ve never seen that floorplan before.

Have you found what you are looking for yet? We have a 2012 Redwood 34SK model that we're considering selling. It's been at a campground in Michigan since we purchased it new in 2012 and never been on the road, other that a couple of trips to a dealer. If you'd be interested in, please call my husband Tim @ 239-691-4111
