You think thats bad, a dealer offered me $28k on a trade, I felt violated, laughing was my only comment on my way out the door.

Even buying at what I considered a good price at the time, the value on these things plummets quite rapidly. I have lived in mine three years and bought it used in late 2014. I paid 55 and doubt if I could get 30 or 35 out of it lol! I feel for those who paid near MSRP for any RV as I believe in three years they are worth 1/2 the price. They get to the point that they are worth more to the owner than what one could get out of it. I will just keep it!

I feel the same way we lived in our 2015 for two years and then change of plans and work position changed so we bought a new house in 2016. Thought about selling the RW and replacing it with smaller weekend unit but resale made it more valuable to just keep and use what we have and enjoy the comfort. With all the upgrades we know the rig and are comfortable with it. We have not seen anything we like or would trade it off for. Little over kill for weekends and 2-3 week vacations but its nice to spend that time so comfortable.

Sold! Gone! Adios!!
Replaced both with this.
It's not as comfortable sleeping, but much easier to park.

yay! Congratulations Danny, I know you had been trying for a while!

And congratulations on that nice looking JLU! Note that there were some weld issues with the track bar on some of those -

I heard they ride real nice - better than my JKU - but I haven't test drove one yet.

Thanks Brad & Shane!! It only took 15 months for the right folks to come along.
Vaughn, I did only get near what I wanted, but it's sort of like me, it gets older by the minute & worth less.
Not sure at this point if we'll get something small enough to tow behind the Jeep or something just big enough to tow the Jeep, but aren't doing anything til summer if at all for a while.
I will still lurk around here as a former RW owner.

Danny,
Congratulations on your sale. Wow, 15 months. Glad it finally worked out for you. Stay in touch here. Your insight is very helpful to many.

We are in Florida for the winter and I am trying to recover from knee surgery. We may be following your path to a sale in the near future. What turned out to work best for you in terms of advertising?

Guy

We're still very happy in the fulltime Redwood life but unlike Danny and Linda are only a couple years into it. Currently it looks like we'll be here in Lake Powell for at least the next year, maybe longer as we both like what we're doing and have come to love the high desert country and the Lake. Even seriously thinking of selling the Focus and getting a Jeep. Too much off road to explore out here !! If anyone wants to join the double tow club, let me know. Focus is totally ready to go, all you'd need is towbar.

I think if we ever sell the Redwood and settle into a small place, I'd go looking for a nice shape 29-31' Class C and tow the Jeep

Thanks Guy!
Not really sure! They said they saw it online, but I had it on several rv places including other forums beside the RW ones.
Hope the knee recovery is going well! That's probably next on our medical to-do list on my knee/knees. We've spent most of last year dealing with Linda's heart problems, now after valve replacement & a pacemaker she's doing great so now it's my turn. Ain't getting old great!
Thanks Joe!
We fulltimed for 10 years & it was a great experience, there's only a couple minutes I'd change if doing it again.

Go for something that tows the Jeep! They are easy to tow - but the limits on what they can tow themselves doesn't leave you with much. I put our boat behind our Jeep.............once

Thanks Brad! After further investigation you're exactly right. The Jeep is only rated to tow 3500 lbs which isn't much of a rv, maybe the little Casita that I wouldn't buy anyway.
