Towing behind my 5er
Guys, I have a 2012 and it came with a receiver but no plug. What easiest way for me to add it? Do I need to drop the belly pan, pull out the tool box?

You’ll need to drop the back of the belly pan and wire into the taillights. Redwood put the hitch on from the factory but decided to limit their liability somewhat and not supply the light wiring.
I’m aware of Arizona 65’ length. According to a friend here that is higher up in County Sheriff’s office, that is a commercial length. He said his people and also talking to his brother who is a DPS Trooper, they never bother a private RV as long as it looks like it’s setup right because there are so many people that double.
Now, if you’re towing a really long or sorry looking rig, all bets are off.

That is good info on the length. I built a trailer to meet the length requirement for my UTV, wasn't sure how they saw it. Also thanks for the info on the wiring for the plug.

2012 FL36 300 tongue weight and 3000 lb tow capacity. Want an enclosed trailer for golf cart. Anyone doing this or suggestions for the right equipment?

Been towing tandem for 20 years all across OK, TX, and AR.
Just bought my Redwood, so haven’t yet setup the lights/wiring.
My experience basically echos the above. 75 feet long and never given a second look.

for those of you considering a double trailer , there is a option for smaller lighter vehicles that dont have problems backing up and use very short hook up. currently they dont show much stock on there web page .

Length limit is 75'. My estimate is you are fine. Have you had any emergency back up moments on the road?! We've had two where I would have been concerned with the little car. Rig looks great!!

Redwood & Swivel
Here’s my setup. The swivel wheel is considered an extension of the 5th wheel.

What reinforcement method did you use for the hitch? I plan on towing a 14 ft utility trailer with just under 2000 lb UTV..will be close to the hitch limit. Thanks

We welded in another triangular plate under the receiver and then a couple of additional filets on each side. My needs are a little different than pulling a trailer because towing the car, I don’t have even 100 lbs of tongue weight. It’s all straight pulling on the towbar.

Any new thoughts? We’re considering a small Jeep behind our 4001LK

Not a problem
The jeep should not be a problem. The hitch will hold 300 pounds tongue weight and I think up to 3000 pounds pull weight but best to look at the stickers on the hitch assembly itself. Just make sure you do not exceed 75 feet total length nor exceed the tow weight max of your truck as Redwoods are not light.

If you’re going to pull a Jeep, definitely reinforce the hitch. Depending on series, Jeeps are porky little critters. A late model 2 door is low to mid 4000 lbs and a four door is over 5k. Mid 2000’s TJ is low to mid 3000 lb.
Also make sure your hitch and truck is rated for the total tow weight.
