Some of the old timers may have more knowledge. Mine was made in September of 2011 and was unit #321.

The first Redwood display coaches were built in late 2010. Our 2012 36RL was built in August 2011 and was unit number 293. Ours has the standard finish (not full body paint) and the front/rear cap fading issue and a bedroom slide topper that didn't roll up properly are the only real issues we have had with our RW.

Still very happy after 4 years.

The last 4 digits of your VIN number. Those 4 digits were marked in white chalk (or china marker) on my pin box when I took ownership of the trailer. Of course the entire VIN number is on the label on the left side of the trailer also.

Guess that makes us #4106

Sure seems like lot of production numbers from 2,283 to 4,106 for both our units being 2014 year models

I'm thinking the -1400 does not work? No way they made that many in 14'
Just double checked my last 4 of the VIN and I didn't make a mistake this time.

According to one of the Redwood folks I spoke with at the Rally, the VIN number started at 1400. Otherwise, I have no idea. Maybe your units spanned the entire model year, but, I agree the numbers would indicate they were making 7 or 8 units per day in model year 2014. Maybe that was part of the QC issue..........trying to make too high of production rate!!!!

WOW... if RW was pushing out 7-8 per day that would have been the QC issue for sure... Someone here must have some info.

Our 13 is 3146. Built in January. Makes me think the 2200 number is 3200.

Our 2012 36RL was built March 07, 2012 and VIN number 2146, so ours was the 746th off the line.

Mine is #1977 off the line (3377) - is a 2014, but...it was manufactured May 2013. I think they just started the 2014 series real early.

That is exactly a six month spread of time from my 2012 36RL and they built 425 units during that time.

My weight was about 1,000 pounds over for my 2012 F350 Super Duty 6.7 L SRW short bed. I did have about 500# of tools and stuff in the cab at the time. I believe I could could be close to max without the unnecessary cab weight removed and moving stuff from the basement to the RW's rear area when towing. The 6.5 KW Onan gen, W&D, dishwasher, two 40-# propane tanks, satellite dish, second power awning and other goodies certainly did not help my cause with weight. The towing weight is well under spec. The pin weight is a tab bit beyond what it should be when I consider the above weight changes. I always tow with empty tanks. If I was to purchase another truck it would be a long bed 450 DRW. As I have towed my RW less than 2,000 miles in three years it will be some time before I wear out my 350 SRW truck. The covered storage facility enjoys my RW 90% of the year!

Just wondering if those VIN numbers include the Elevations, Blackwoods, Seqouia, & Cypress? If not that means there's 4500 RWs out there & we hardly ever see one, where the he'll are they?
