RL38 Weights

I was able to get our Trailer and Truck weights. Thought I would share how they came out tanks were empty when weighed.

2008 Ford F450 Empty
Front axel 5620 lbs
Rear axel 4360 lbs

Truck with Trailer connected
Front axel 5620 lbs
Rear Axel 7780 lbs (pin weight 3420 lbs)

Trailer
Front axel 5900 lbs
Rear axel 4840 lbs
Total axel weights together 12360 lbs

not sure how this compares to others but nice to know where I am at.

Curious how you added to get 12,360?

Pin+trailer front+trailer rear = 14,160 total trailer correct or am I doing it wrong.

I think it should be the Pin + Trailer
3420 + 12360 = 15780

I am not sure about the weights of the front and rear by them selves was a hard scale to use for that.

BUT:
Front axel 5900 lbs
Rear axel 4840 lbs
Equals 10740 lbs
Plus Pin 3420 lbs
Equals 14160 lbs Trailer
Which doesn't even match RWs numbers which are:
Dry Axle: 11194
Dry Pin : 2478
Dry 38RL: 13672
So things don't add up

I can see my Pin weight being higher 40lb bottles 6-6 volt batteries and items in front storage when weighed. Guess I will have to try again but not sure where I would have messed it up.

I think Michelle knew that the Redwood numbers would not be what you see on the scale....

Here's an example of how far off RW numbers can be:
Our '16 39MB - Dry Shipping weight of 15848 Lbs (Brochure Dry Weight: 13996)
so ours shipped from the Factory almost 2000 Lbs more that the Brochure weight and we hadn't ever added a single paper plate yet.
That's the reason it seems really strange that you're coming up less than brochure weights on almost all the numbers.

i have to agree with Michelle any time i have checked a unit. Be it a 5er or a trailer and MH they never come out anywhere near the specs in the literature. that is why we went to 8k axles - disc brakes and up 1 grade on the tires. most of the time a Flying j lets you do a reweigh if you have your receipt.

My "16" 38RL was signed off by C Fox at 14,100# .
LOADED for a 2 week trip my weights were:
12,680# on the axles
3,260# on the pin
---------------------
15,940# total trailer

I think the axel weights were incorrect I reweighed today and this is the numbers I have.

3420(Pin) + 12360(Trailer) = 15780

They came out the same as last time I did not try to weight the axels separate on this run through the scale. my numbers look very close to Joe's

That sounds much more realistic.
I know that our MB is heavier than normal with the 17.5 GYs and the Mor/ryde 8K IS, plus we're loaded for long term travels.

Well no I left the sink at home. Lol don't really have a lot of stuff in it. Have a few solar panels 3000 watt inverter 8 six volt deep cycle batteries. Other than that just normal traveling stuff

Ran through a CAT scale coming up here to New York. First weigh after moving into the RW fulltime. Total rig is 27150. I know the truck loaded but without coach is just shy of 10k with us, full fuel and all the "stuff" in it. I also have the 8k MORRyde IS Suspension. A little closer than I would like on tire weight for the G Goodyears. Will be going to a set of H from Ron before we leave in the fall.
