New drw ram ordered

After reading all the post on the benefits of a drw vs srw truck I bit the bullet and I ordered a new ram which has 25000 lb fifth wheel tow capasity. I should have the truck in approx. 10 weeks, looking forward to adding stuff on it. It will have 373:1 rear end and the aisin trans.

Congratulations on that new truck! Does 25000 lb mean it's a DRW? Dodge is a gorgeous truck!

Based on the fact that he went with the 3.73 gearing it reduced his overall towing capacity for the increase in fuel economy. With the 4.10 he would have been over 30,000 pounds towing capacity. The RAM 3500 DRW is the best looking DRW out there, bar none

I was just asking if the original OP got the dually. I can't tell from the 25000 lb quoted if that is a dually or not.

Brad it would have to be a dually with that tow rating.

Mfoster12 I have a '14 Ram 3500 DRW, Aisin, 3.73 with a long bed. It is a great truck for towing, it will handle your Redwood with ease. I have towed my Carriage back and forth across the US, with never a problem. Good selection, you'll be happy.

Just asking a question, didn't want it to have to be a process of elimination. I don't really follow Dodge specs. Most folks just say they bought a dually.

It is not a process of elimination There is no SRW of any truck manufacturer that has that high of a tow rating. All DRW's are not created equal in spite of some people thinking they are. The 2016 Ram 3500 DRW max trailer tow capacity can range from 16,130 to 30,830 depending on transmission and axle ratio. The OP by stating Asin and 3.73 axle ratio that his tow rating was close to 25k. He could have stated that he just bought a DRW and everybody would think it would pull anything. But then again he could have the manual transmission and 3.42 axle ratio and his max tow rating would be 16,130 Even more important his GCWR would have dropped from 33,800 to 24,300. Of course he could have went with the 4.10 and jumped to a max tow rating of 30,830 and a GCWR of 39,100. There is no Ford or OMC going to match that.

No need for beating the chest with a bunch of Dodge rhetoric - this started simple and is getting ugly. This is how it started followed by a simple question -

Not giving a rats what Dodge's tow ratings are (don't even know what mine are) - I just asked if he got the drw or srw without having to go to the Dodge nightmare spec search. That's like saying I looked at the 4 engine Boeing and 2 engine Boeing and went with the 130K lb/thrust plane. I pulled the answer I was asking for out of all the illusive answers - so I'm done.

The title of the thread was "New drw on order", how difficult did all this have to be?? We know if it's not Ford it ain't worth mentioning.

If I were looking for another DRW truck I'd have to look at the Dodge. From what I'm hearing about the new Fords, a 30 mile an hour crash will total them. This is very worrisome to me
