Moryde SRE 4000

I just installed this on our RW a few weeks back and what a difference it made in the Trailer. My question is has anyone added the X factor bar to the set. The set I bought did not come with the added bar but I saw a post that this is needed on the trailer as some damaged has happed to trailers by the shackle holders twisting and breaking off. Anyone have thoughts on this or experience.

BTW did do the Heavy duty shackle kit and upgraded the bearings and brakes on the trailer at the same time. Did not go to Disk can't get past the cost and the new brakes we added really worked well. Especially since they do not have grease on them like the factory set. Stupid Chinese seals!!

MOR/RYDE will not warranty the SRE4000 unless the X Factor cross bar is installed. The SRE4000 allows for more twisting when turning which stresses the spring hangers. The SRE 4000 box states that it includes the X Factor. That extra torque can twist the cheapo 1/4" thick side plate hangers.

Some sellers on Amazon exclude the X Factor from the shipment which is bogus!

I see that now. I have ordered the X Factor bar and will install it this week. Thought that was the case. Thanks for the input.

More ryde does not recommend installation without the bar installed.

I agree 100%. I installed the SRE-4000 and Heavy Duty Shackles kit two years ago. The X-Factor cross bar came with the SRE-4000 and Mor/Ryde does not guarantee the product without the X-Factor cross bar. I purchased the SRE-4000 and Shackles kit from Dyers RV online which had the best price at the time.

The X factor bar will arrive today. I plan on installing it tomorrow. I considered ordering 3 and putting on at the front and back spring connections. I saw a Video on how this could be done and help with suspension support. Not sure it is needed but could be a consideration. The upgrade was so worth the cost and work huge improvement in the ride of the trailer.

Note: the x bar uses a longer wet bolt than the other wet bolts. Hope the original shipment had this longer bolt included.

Looks like what I ordered has the longer wet bolts in the kit.

IN THE BOX
  • (1) adjustable crossmember
  • (2) clamp straps
  • (2) wet bolts & flange locknuts
  • (8) 5/16-18 x 1 1/2 HHCS & locknuts
  • (4) 3/8-16 x 1 flange bolts & locknuts

I should be covered for the install. thanks for the information.

Kit came in today and I was able to finish the install of the Cross member this afternoon. Took about Two hours to complete only because had to replace the one Wet bolt to the hangers. We should be good to go now.

Hello

I've ordered the same kit from Dyer's RV along with the upgraded shackles. Is there anything I should be doing with the leaf springs at the same time this upgrade is done? I have one tire located on the rear drivers side which is wearing on the inside. Other tires are fine with even wear. Is this tire wear related to worn out bushings or something worse.

Regards, Gerard

Hope you didn't put in those new plastic bushings? May need an alignment on the axles for tire wear if you find the bearings & other suspension components in good shape. I had a front tire worn severely in about 5k miles & warranty covered an alignment, now all have worn evenly.

Perhaps an alignment is needed. I used a large truck shop to do the alignment. They had experience with RV's

Hi Danny

I did replace them on the one side at .85 each as I couldn't obtain bronze bushing. Figured something would be better than nothing. I was on my way back into Canada and couldn't obtain the upgrade kit in time before I had to return. I have it being shipped to Sumas, Washington and my daughter will be picking it up. The savings are unreal in comparison to what an RV supplier would have charged me in Canada. Currently have put 12k miles on it. The issue is I can't recall as to when the tire wear started.
Thanks for the info. Gerard

Most of the plastic bushings on ours were warn through and we only have around 3000 miles on the trailer in last two years. Hope the new Wet bolt kit lasts longer than that.
