Ken ~ either brand works well. Slight mounting differences between them. If he is familiar with the Firestones and is offering help .........

I have the Loadlifter 5000 on mine with the Remote control onboard compressor.

John ~ did it break the main spring or one of the middle ones in the pack ? If a middle one, I would be inclined to travel with it but check it frequently and avoid bad roads as much as possible. It was probably a bad pothole that did the spring in..
As a temporary measure, I have used a c-clamp to keep the pack aligned side to side.

If the main spring - that's probably a showstopper because of axle alignment issues.

Yes you should have your spring fixed. And soon. Springs are what hold your axle under your RW. If one is broke the other ones on that stack are getting more of the force and could be the next one to break.

Vaughan and Tracy are there any good roads? The bridges are the worst. All the way here we were saying how bad the roads were not even knowing that we had a broken spring. I'm going to get it fixed tomorrow if I can get it in.

ksaltman,

many of us have found that the triglide adjusted to the mark makes the bag WAY too hard to allow hardly any 'cushioning'

I'd suggest watching it as you go down the road and see if lowering the psi some to allow some cushioning to not allow the SHICk to be passed through to the truck...

and as far as the well known kalunk
make sure you have the heavy duty grease in the trailair as mine was basically empty and would make moer of a BANG !!! starting and stopping...

Agree with John, If I set my hitch so that it's riding about a half inch or so below the arrow top I can look in the mirror and see the nose of the coach just "floating" up and down over the bumps. If I take mine up to the top of the arrows I can feel a noticeable difference in the ride and also don't see the coach move much.

I agree with the others regarding the arrow. While it's kind of a pain I usually find that it's best not to adjust the hitch pressure until I pull out of the parking spot and get some forward and back motion. Then I'll break out the portable compressor and adjust to just below the top of the arrow.

I guess I used too thin of grease because I pumped it full before our trip to Maine and now I have grease all over the hitch. It's a real mess!

Nope! Someone else on here said that they saw a video on greasing it so I gave it a try. Not sure what I did wrong but it's a mess now.

Geez, I was just about to do this and now you've got me second guessing... It's nice having a perfectly clean hitch and pin!

I've had a problem greasing the 3 zerks up inside the hitch with my big paws, but greased several times with whatever is in my gun & only messy up top of that floating plate.

Ok I have the tri-glide as well. I haven't greased mine yet and now after reading this post how much is to much to put in each of the zerks as I am one who hates having grease all over my hitch as I remove mine when not in use

.

Dave - guess I'll take the hit on this one, as I believe it was me who posted first about greasing them. I usually re-grease about every 1500 - 2000 mls. No problems, so far

Maybe something is wrong with my seals. I read on here to fill those 3 zerks full so I took my grease gun and pumped them as full as I could. After that 4000 mile trip to Maine and back I have grease oozing out all over the place.

I'm going to buy 3 cans of "brake clean", a whole role of paper towels and clean the whole mess up. This looks as bad as the 5th wheel hitch of a big truck. Maybe I used too thin of grease but as it is, unless I figure another way, I'm not going to do it again.

Anyone have the part number for the tri-glide for our RWs? We have the hitch with the large rubber pad. We were supposed to have the tri-glide with the air bag, but the dealer wouldn't come through. We took a beating on I-40 in the middle of Knoxville. Have 20k hitch, air bags on the truck, need that last piece. Thanks. Did a check of my springs and bolts this morning, all good.

I'll see if I can grab it in just a few mins. Assuming its visible on the hitch.
