Any suggestions for Corpus Christi Texas

Does anybody have any suggestions for campgrounds in the Corpus Christi area. I think we're going to be headed down there around the second week of January for a few weeks.

Dave,
We stayed in Gulf Waters a few years back. Its on Mustang Island, walk over their boardwalk to the Gulf. Park is an owners park, so you are renting a spot that is owned by someone. Very nice place, easy to get to Corpus or Port A
Good Luck

When we visited our son in Corpus, we drove through that place. We would give it a shot if given the opportunity.

Dave,
I did some contract work a couple years ago in the area for 8-9 months & the best advice I could give is, if you have anything you want to keep, lock it up tight & you will be approached by numerous folks wanting to know if you could spare a few bucks.
You wouldn't want to stay where we had to, right in all the refineries, but Gulf Waters is very nice, & down the road is Pioneer park which is nice.

i appreciate all this input. We haven't spent much time South of San Antonio and thought we'd give it a try. Florida is so busy that time of year, but who knows we could consider heading that way too.

If you are heading for the panhandle of FL, just East of Pennsacola is Navarre. A must stay is Santa Rosa resort right on the bay. Sites 1-17 ( I think) back up to the water (your case you would pull in). Just west of the resort about 2 miles is a killer burger joint.

We hit that area back in 2010 and stayed at a number of parks, Pioneer was one of the best. Pictures on our blog:
