Wash and WAX Then!!!

Well spent all day Sunday washing and waxing the RW. When done stood back to admire my hard work and it was all shiny and beautiful. Went in to take a shower and get a cold one to relax and before I could get out of shower I heard the Thunder clouds coming. LOL never fails does not rain all week and I wash the RV and down it comes. Oh well still looks nice even with the rain.

One nice thing about the RW is that when I've washed and waxed it and it rains, it does not show up unless I'm moving the rig! Stays oh so nice!!!

I feel your pain. Doesn't matter if I wash my RW, truck, or Harley.....its going to rain.
What do you use to wax your RW? I have been reading about many different products people have been using; waxes and sealants. I want to use something that is easy to use, and will protect and last.
Thanks

Well I wish you guys would come to southern California to do your washing. We could use a little rain here

Shane,
The weather is bizarre. One can only scratch their head and wonder why things happen the way they do. Here in Colorado we recently had a lot of flooding with a lot of property damage and loss of life. While your location is having a serious drought.
I hope you get some rain soon.

I have been using a spray wax from 3M on my last three RV's it is easy to use and is a UV protectant. I put on a paste wax once a year and usually a spay wax two times a year. Pays to take care of the outside

When we were at Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, MD this spring for the Cherry Blossom festival in Washington DC I had a local Detailer they recommended clean the rig. Guy was fantastic, showed up with 4 people and obvious they all knew what they were doing.

Washed and hand waxed the Coach AND the Dually for $325.00. I'm thinking of taking a weekend trip to Cherry Hill about twice a year just to have Moe do the rig ........LOL

Vaughan,

You'll have to check out Yuma, Az. If you're ever out this way, wash, hand wax with Meguires, truck and rig.....$125.00. We usually have 4 rigs....they show up with 2 crews, about 10 guys and normally get done in a day.

I'll remember that. Here on the East Coast, going rate for just the Coach is $10-12.00 / foot for wash/wax

Most of Arizona is about $8/foot, California (where I live)...who knows but probably $10-12. That's why when down south, we stop in Yuma for the annual wax! Such a deal.

Had mine done in Yuma, left the next day & rained the whole trip, haven't been to a park that allows washing since.

Did you stop and stay, and if where? Or did you just stop long enough to get it done? If so, where.

Jim

We have stayed at Westward the past few years for about 4 or 5 days. Not that great of a park but it works.....easy in an out and far enough from the trains.

We usually head to Yuma after Quartzite for our annual wash and wax and visit Algodones, Mexico. Normally, we call a few days before we arrive to get the work scheduled.

We were at Cherry Hill RV Park last year for Cherry Blossom Festival, but it snowed on us the week before the Festival.

I wash my rig with a product called Citra C1 which you can cut up to 100:1. Does a great job on the bugs as well as the dirt and grime. To wax mine I use either Vitreo Polymeric Shield or STS 2000. Vitreo is a sealant as well as a UV protect-ant. STS 2000 will remove light oxidation and works great on dark colors. If you want to know more about these products go to my web site: EZ Wax Products | Car & Boat Detailing Products.
I hope I'm not out of line posting info about my products. Just want to share what works well for me.
