Spontaneous trip to Phoenix

My wife and I decided to go to Phoenix for a week leaving this Friday. We never been there before. Recommendations of things to see/do there?

Thanks

While in the area make a day trip to Old Tucson Studios in Tucson especially if you're an old tv western fan, been twice & still like it.

I could spend weeks in the Tucson area, so much to see and do. But if you want to stay in Phoenix proper, I might suggest,

Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin West Studio tour
Waldorf Astoria, Arizona Biltmore Hotel,
Veterans Memorial in Anthem (Phoenix north)
Dolly Steamboat ride, Canyon Lake

Go to the Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa. The have a $1+M Wurlitzer organ that has the bellows and the bass in separate building. They claim that there are 911 earthquake calls when they play too much bass.

The show is amazing, especially when you realize that only one person is performing. There are many robots ( monkeys, birds, etc) that play the instruments controlled by the organ.

Show is free and the pizza and beer is very reasonable.

If you like a little history, Jerome (inbetween Phoenix and Sedona) is pretty cool, and there is a great winery there.

Thanks everyone. Looks like a week is just not going to be enough time to see everything.
