Need Water Filter suggestions

Well ~ as of May 10th we will be Fulltimers.

Since we will be setup in upstate New York on the Erie Canal for 6 months, I'd like suggestions on a good water filtration system that is portable. I'm thinking something that can sit by the coach and then store in the gen compartment when traveling. I don't want/need to get into a fancy, involved reverse osmosis system or something like that.

Any suggestions ??

Vaughn, we've had/have a canister filter with a sediment cartridge going into a RV Pro 10000 water softener mounted in a milk crate with quick disconnects going into the on-board canister filter with a charcoal cartridge & the water tastes great & the ice maker makes clear ice cubes. The softener lasts about 30 days before recharging with table salt & the entire setup stores easily & was +/- $300.

We have essentially the same setup as Danny and has worked well for us. In some areas of the country with hard hard water, the water softener is indispensable. Just ahead of that is a replaceable filter cartridge, plus we have the supplied water filter behind the small door in the basement. I guess you're not coming to Phoenix, eh?

Hi Jim
No, no Phoenix this year, maybe next depending on where we winter. This whole thing got finalized rather quickly and we're going nuts. We will be at the Rally this year but it will be a quick out and back as I'm contracted for the entire season as Captain on the larger tour boat.
