I40 from Asheville, NC to Knoxville, TN

Anything we should know?? Looks like we'll be heading to Northern Alabama from the Outer Banks next month, and I40 appears to be the most direct route. Looks like lots of curves, but they don't bother me, plus I've read there are some areas prone to rock slides. I see there are a few tunnels, but no info on heigth restrictions. I guess if we follow a Semi we'll be safe.

I40 is a great road in that area for pulling your RW. Trust me, there are trucks, trucks and more trucks on I40. If you have a CB (I do and have since 1967) the conversations, although a tab bit salty are interesting and help pass the time.

Bob, thanks for the info. Didn't really think there was anything to worry about, after all we have traveled the entire length of the "Top of the World Highway" from the Yukon to Alaska.

Download the "Trucker Path" app & set the clearance setting, anytime I'm not going interstate I check for low clearances & fuel stops.
