We never decorated the S&B cause we lived in the sticks and no one would ever see it, but we're in the process of decorating our winter site, including the Palm Trees!

Don't see us ever leaving the sticks and bricks behind - We may abandoned it for months at a time, but it will always be home.

I agree Ron, in & out in about 10 minutes. In the S&B it took a day that get it all off the loft in my shop, several days for her to decorate indoors, whole day for me to decorate outdoors, several trips to town to get more stuff, & then take it all down, Damn I'm exhausted just talking about it! NO I don't miss it at all!!

I'm with Brad, we love camping, BUT love our house & 37 acres too. Hang a wreath on the front door & a couple of elec. candles in the windows..... DONE.

My wife is slowly warming up to the idea of full timing. She said she might go along with selling the house and building a large pole barn that we could put the rv in and then live in the RV.

Dave - purchasing land and putting up a pole barn for the RV is something we have been talking about for sometime. We are in no rush as we have been full-time for almost 3 years now and still enjoying it. But eventually we will likely purchase some land in California.

I've seen some really nice pole barn set-ups that can include a small apartment area and workshop area.

Most likely we will always have a stick house somewhere but not in CT. We will be moving to a warmer climate very soon and the RW will be our home for at least a year wile we find a house or build a new one. Who knows....if we like the RW enough maybe no need for a new house. Only time will tell.

Here is the house in CT. tonight. Can't decorate the RW because it's still at the factory in Indiana.

Sold our home almost three years ago and have been full-timing in our RW since then. Don't miss anything about a brick and stick house. Takes about 30 min to put up decorations in the RW. It's kind of funny...many of our friends and relatives keep asking us if we are still enjoying our full-timing in the RW (as if this was just some kind of experiment that we should be tired of it by now). We absolutely love our lifestyle, and plan on keeping on as long as we are physically able.

Missing Christmas Decorations in the Sticks and Bricks?

Can't say I am losing much sleep over it. But, Lynda missed it a lot last year (our first Christmas Full Timing) and she admitted last night that she still misses it this year. It was one of her passions. She spent a lot of time on it and it showed. She usually had 3 trees decorated and the house filled with stuff. Much of it carrying some nostalgic value.

We do have some decorations for the rig buried in the basement. Think it is time for me to dig them out.

BTW, is it too early for me to wish everyone a Merry Christmas?

Gary

We sold our house last year August 2014 and moved into the Motorhome we had at the time. We purchased the RW last year in December because the MH seemed very cramped and we wanted more space. The idea is we would live in the RW for a year and start building a new house on some property we have. So far we have not started the house and now are considering selling the property. Don't miss the S&B and all the work that goes into it one bit.

Don't miss the house at all. It was too much house after all the kids had gone. Full-timing was our best choice and have not looked back.
