Yea but don't forget, for all the money we spent we got lots of "eye candy" though.

Not knowing about Sequoia, I might mention that Redwood had an early recall for awning convenience switches located in the basement that were vulnerable to operating the awnings down the road if the load in the basement shifted and leaned up against the switches. The fix was a simple velcro attached guard that went over the switches. I'm sure they wouldn't repeat the issue on the new RV line, but just in case.

Brad, I'm fairly certain that was like the sewer boom, the fix was to just do away with it, too bad I like have the switches for my awning outside.

Oh that's right, I forgot they just eliminated them. I like them well enough I would probably install them if I didn't have them. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to go to wireless remote on the 2nd awning, as sometimes I have had to get help getting it to start retracting. If I was ever alone I could be in a jam. At least with the remote I could do it myself.

No, that was actually the range vent. I had to replace the flapper.

I installed my dryer vent here. My W/D are in the bedroom slide.

I did not and I can't remember why. Maybe it was close enough to the edge I figured there wouldn't be a stud there, I might have looked at Dave's pictures he took at the factory, or it might have been marked with an orange sticker saying "vent". I'm sorry, I've installed 3 now and they are all blending together in my memory. A stud finder would probably be a good idea.

Zapped

Ok the new guy has another one. We driveway camped this weekend to load the basement and the upstairs with all of our trailer belongings. We took the dogs with us Saturday, they love camping. First time up the steps to the new Redwood they acted really strange, inside the trailer really weird also. After a while took them out to do their thing and when it was time to go inside they were saying hell no. I had to pick them up and put them inside.

So today we left them home. The daughter, and grandkids came over today to take a look at Grandpa and Grandma's new toy. The daughter kicked of her shoe and started up the steps and said holly crap, I just got lit up. I said what she said I got a shock, I kicked off my shoes and holly crap Zap! Not being a electrical kind of guy what kind of ground problem could I be experiencing. Any thoughts?

you need to unplug the trailer and get that checked out. You should never get zapped going inside on the stairs. It sounds like you have a grounding wire problwm and are taking a chance of fire or someone getting seriously electrocuted.

You say you "Driveway Camped". Does that mean you're suppling power via an ungrounded extension cord or unpolarized. Either way things need to be checked out. No wonder the Dogs didn't want to go in.

Michelle or Ann, I don't know which one of you posted but thanks. I have the trailer parked at my dad's and I used an extension cord he supplied me with. He is notorious for cutting off the ground end. I jumped in the car and went to check. Sure enough no ground. I replaced his cord with one of mine. I then removed my shoes and no shock. I got the wet carpet we were using to wipe our shoes, the one I was standing on earlier today and got zapped and still did not get poked. We love our Wheaton Terriers and will have a good deal of work to do before they trust their new Redwood.

Good find! I was notorious for that too when we lived in a house that didn't have the 3 prong receptacles (that goes back a bit).

We had a little dog once that was scared to death of a floor register and wouldn't go in our old motorhome. I think he was intimidated because he couldn't see behind it, but they worked as good as a cattle guard for keeping him penned. I of course couldn't resist and would lift the register out of the floor and carry it with me and scare the wits out of him every chance I got

Without the ground to ensure the plug was in correctly, you could have 120 on the frame of the RW by having the Hot side of the outlet connected to the Neutral of the RW.
Glad it was that simple. And just for general info, I'm Michelle, I'm the one on all the RV Forums. Ann is my partner of almost 41 years.

For the post that wants to cut a dryer vent ~ if it's an RL there are no uprights in the slide wall behind the dryer. I didn't use a standard RV W/D and had Redwood send me an engineering drawing of the slide wall so I could make sure.

Just measure or mark real carefully where the 4" hole needs to be and drill .........

Drink just enough whiskey that your hand doesn't wobble

My 4" hole cutter wouldn't go completely through - so I sarted on the inside, then moved to the outside to finish.

As Brad said above, a 4" hole cutter won't go all the way through. Which is a good thing as you don't want the outer wall to splinter. Drill from the inside and stop as soon as the pilot bit pokes through. Go to the outside and cover an area big enough for the 4' hole saw with masking tape and then drill from the outside. the masking tape prevents splintering or chipping and gives you a nice clean hole.
