What brand are you looking at - if its a Majestic - forget it. They were terrible.

Our tires hadn't even cooled off from the trip home from the Dealer and I was drilling the vent hole. No warranty issues, unless your craftsmanship causes a problem of its own.

We have the side by side Splendid Ariston (used to be stacked) and they make short work of laundry. We've had them since 2007. The Dryer is big enough to take two washer loads, so if the washer is outrunning the dryer, throw the second load in the dryer and go to the lake!

Mine is just like Brad's. The dealer cut the hole and installed it for me. The chrome vent cover looks just fine to me.

Mine is right there in the black stripe. Probably higher than it should be, but I didn't want to paint multicolors.

I also cut vent in previous SOB, I checked, measured, looked, measured again & pucker factor was still a 10. Wife vacated & I drilled. You may want to price an apartment size stackable set as it may be cheaper.

Putting in a dryer vent won't effect the warranty. Redwood and Lippert state that the warranty is void if you alter anything about the under girding frame structure.

We ordered our FB with the W/D, the vent was installed at the factory so it's painted to match the full paint. Dealer installed vents are typically chrome.

The FB W/D closet requires stackables unless you use a combo, we opted for Whirlpool stackables...no regrets!!

Were going to look into the stackable apartment size seems the specs are pretty close in size. We aren't full timers so I don't need them right away I just want them right away

Just make sure the dryer is 110V rather than 220V, unless you want to do a little re-wiring. Also watch the depth.

Compare the dimensions to the Splendide Aristons, as they are an exact fit. That is what Redwood uses as the factory option (at least they did).

We had our dealer install the Splendide combo unit (vented) from our older trailer when we bought the Redwood. The Splendide packed it in last winter and after 4 repairs over it's life I gave up on it, we had the Ariston washer and dryer installed by our dealer a couple of months ago.

He had to move the dryer vent location (lower and farther to the rear of the slide), fortunately I had kept the "plug" (complete with insulation) taken out of the original vent location, he put the plug back in and installed a "scare light" over the plug to hide the fact that it had been drilled out. The light is wired to the inside slide light with a separate switch, I always wanted a light on the roadside!

AA, you are right, we moved our 24" Maytag Washer and 24" Sears Kenmore 120 Volt Dryer from our previous 5er to our Redwood.
We really like the larger drum / capacity of the Maytag unit.

In our previous 5th Wheel they fit the W/D Cabinet area with room to spare, in our Redwood, the W/D cabinet area is much smaller and tighter, it was a challenge to get the Maytag in, I had to do a little carpentry work to install them but they are in and work great.

We will be meeting the gentleman this afternoon that's selling the combo, he's just a few towns over. He said it was used once and it's three years old so pretty much brand new. He said he and his wife will be going full time and she wants the room for her new quilting hobby. I still can't pass up a deal like this so hopefully all will work out well. Thank you to everyone for the comments/advice it definitely made us make our decision!!

Make sure he winterized it while he had it, and nothing is froze and burst. If it's the Splendide unit I had in my SOB, I'm not too sure you will like this combo unit, but good luck, it is nice to be able to wash clothes in our RVs, and not have to go to a laundromat.

I would really check it over. If they're going Full Time, I could understand if they were selling it to move to the individual units vs the combo. But getting rid of it to make room for something else seems odd for someone going Full time, as just about all Full Timers have some sort of washer/dryer setup.
Just my thoughts on a "Deal to Good to be True". Hope it all works out for you.

Tho verify that it works...simply hook a garden hose up to it while it's sitting in the driveway. Run it through a wash cycle.

X2
That's exactly how I did ours after uncrating it BEFORE we installed it! Figured if it was broke, I didn't want the water inside.

Fyi: the 2014 36FL washer/dryer has to go in the back door, the door between the bathroom & kitchen has to be close so it can go in the closet. When it comes in the back door it has to be picked up over the sink to get it in.
