Has anyone had problems with the flush handle (foot operated)on the Thetford toilet? Ours fell off the other morning, much to my dismay. I messed around with it long enough that I finally got it back on and it stayed for a day. Called Thetford and they're sending me a new handle but the only thing I can see that holds it on is the spring pressure. Not a real good design if it's going to wear out every eight months. Opening and closing the valves by hand while waiting for the handle and oh by the way don't mess with the rear water valve until you shut the water off! Don't ask me how I know.

We have had two new seals replaced and a new toilet installed now only to start the process over again. Ours will not hold water and the spring has become very lose. Waiting to hear what RW will do on this one.

Redwood told me that they don't warranty Thetford stuff, thats why I called Thetford. There was no question and she knew what I needed so I'm not the first to have this problem.

I had the same one in my last RV the handle will not fix it it has a little raised ring going around it that wears down and a groove in the piece that it snaps into if you just get the handle it will only last a little while, they change out the hole pot the third time it's a piece of junkEdited by: Beechguyjim

We are looking at the Dometic toilet - not sure how good it is, but looks sturdier than the Thetford.

I guess we'll have to look at different solutions when we get back to civilization, for right now we're stuck up here in Minn. for the summer. Great place to work, beautiful lake, great fishing, don't know if we can stand it!
