Tire Inflator

I have a fairly significant portable electric air compressor that I keep with my Redwood. I have a hard time however reaching the suggested 100 PSI on the trailer tires. I max out around 92 to 94 PSI. I am wondering if it is my compressor, hoses, or my technique. Does anyone have a small compressor you are carrying along to keep tire inflation up to the suggested levels. Thanks for sharing.

I use a Porter-Cable pancake compressor, fits either in the front compartment (no generator) or underneath the tonneau cover in the truck. Does quick work airing up all my tires including the RWs to 110.

I carry a Porter Cable pancake style compressor. Fairly small footprint and not to heavy. Six gal, 150psi. Around $100 at Home Depot.

I carry the VIAIR 400P. Small and simple with a lot of power. Someone on one of these forums recommended it and I have been very happy with it.

Michelle and Ann suggested this to me and By Golly it was under the Christmas Tree last year.

Best little RV compressor I have ever had! Recovers 150 psi in no time with the 2.0 cfm compared to my old one that was 0.25. It gets those G614s up there - takes a bit, but it does it fine.

What is the max psi on your compressor and can you adjust the output. Is it set high enough. My garage compressor is only 100psi. It was slow to get the last 10lbs of 80 in my previous trucks tires.

Have the 'red' version of that exact one (from sears as a Craftsman brand) but it's starting to have issues.... gets to 150 psi fine and fast, but I can no longer limit the output...

Ruh-Roh - you mean it is running away on pressure or you can't regulate it anymore?

I have had the Craftsman labeled version of this compressor for 3 years, and so far, it has worked very well. It limits out at 150 psi, so, it is easy to reach the required 110 psi on the G614 tires.

it goes up to 150 psi and that's fine for my tires, but the knob on the right that should allow you to limit output pressure to say 30 psi doesn't work anymore... it's either 150 psi or nothing....probably COULD open it up to see, but so far have been able to work around it...

like I just used it to winterize again and I just put the water pressure regulator in line to limit it for blowing out the lines...

I know there were a few complaints of that regulator leaking and the factory would send a new regulator, but hadn't heard of it not working like that.

We also have the Craftsman labeled version, it has served us well for 3 years now.
No problems using it with the 110 PSI tires.

Thanks for the suggestion Mark. I think that may be my issue. I've been reluctant to set it higher and may be impeding the compressors ability to push air into the tire.
