OK, you full time folks get to do this all the time, but life couldn't be better on these weekends! We are cramming every weekend to get our last trips in before the freeze.

PS - our fingers are crossed, but everything continues to work without a glitch, quite an accomplishment for a 5 month old rig.

Nice picture! Where are you? I see some beetle kill pines in the background. We maybe full timing but we are on the East Coast. Yuk! Rather be in Colorado.

Wow - we are at Grand Lake in Colorado. As it turns out, there have been massive floods along the front range where we live, and although I can get home, we cannot get our rig to storage nor can I get to the office as all of the roads have been washed out. I was going to fly to New Mexico Wednesday, looks like I'll just turn south and take the Redwood.

So sorry for all the mess my neighbors are going through!

Brad - Good luck with everything going on at home. I have been wondering if you were affected. My prayers are with everyone. Stay safe.

A good friend of mine just moved from Boulder to the mountains which is usually a 15-20 minute drive. He said now it takes 2-3 hours to make the trip. He's now expecting to be without electricity for 2-3 weeks at this point. He said it's a real mess but thankfully his house is still standing on the mountain.

You're right Dave - it is a mess. We made it home, but most of the roads we planned on taking are washed out.

I told my wife that this crazy weather is just another reason to sell the house and go full time. When bad weather moves in we'd just move out.

When we go full time I'm thinking about being on the disaster relief group that goes in and helps.

That's something I've considered. I tend to be drawn to those things to help, easy enough when you full-time. Would have to add a generator though.

We are planning on helping on disasters as well. Escapees have the DOVE program which will notify you when a disaster occurs, provide training, job assignment roles and a place to park your RV. I believe the Travelin Andersons (Steve) was involved with DOVE, as they made the trip to New Orleans to help out. We have a volunteer position in Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge for 3 months, after that stint we will look at signing up with DOVE.

I thought the same thing, I was with the Convoy of Hope with the Assembly of God during Katrina in Slidell, Louisiana and stayed a few weeks. I didn't have the camper then, but they had a set up at a strip mall for campers that were helping. Blessed to be a blessing.
