Shelf over W/D

For those with the side by side W/D in the hall, has anyone come up with something creative to keep stuff on the shelf while under way?

my wife is a big fan of using baskets on shelves. She also clampe on a wood clamp to the eges so the baskets couldn't slie out.

Clear plastic containers with a non-slip bottom work well. We found several sizes at the Container Store.

I have sheets, towels, an iron, glass measuring cup to measure soap, bleach, etc, fabric softener & laundry pretreat up there -- just placed, not in containers-- haven't had anything fall yet. Really surprised, especially the iron! Maybejust lucky

Sue, You are probably just a much better driver than I amI think I will try the buckets to start and see what happens.

Baskets work well along with a tension rod the full length. Also, use a tension rod on each drawer in pantry for peace of mind or face the possibility of replacing pantry door. We did.

Well, the baskets on the non slip pads did the trick! Thanks. It was the tall bottles of stuff I figured would never stay.

PS - Maggie, thanks for the info on the pantry. I put the brushed nickel 4" sliding locks on each pantry drawer. I believe it was Dave and Ginny's mod suggestion.Edited by: atom ant
