Rust on Shower Wall

I am getting a rust trail under the shower bar attachment cover that holds the shower head.
I assume it is some hardware under the cover where it attaches to the wall that is rusting.
How do I remove the cover on the end of the shower bar to access the hardware?

Rob, I'm not sure how you get to the mounting hardware; however, if the bar is secure, I would just run a bead of clear silicone around the bar mount. Water is probably getting behind there causing the hardware to rust.

I have to believe there is a set screw on the bottom side of the mount. They can be tiny little buggers, but they're usually there.

The outer cover just slides off to reveal the screws. It's just a plastic piece that snaps on and off.

Had the same issue, removed the rusting mounting screws and replaced the stainless steel hardware.

Took shower fixture apart and got everything fixed.

Shower Fixture Assembled, rust running out the bottom on the shower wall

image3.JPG

Shower Fixture with the cover removed, just slide off as noted in previous posts, thanks everyone

Rust on Shower wall after fixture was removed, used Bar Keepers Friend Spray Foam to remove rust stains

image2.JPG

Bottom two screws were rusted so bad, I thought they were going to break before getting them out, replaced with Stainless Steel Screws and also placed some sealant around them

Those should have been stainless screws from the factory. Man, nothing about those fixtures are real. It's like they are artificial clones of a real fixture.
