Roof Structure

If anyone would like to see what is in your roof structure and have not been on the factory tour, I thought I would post. They are all about the same except this one is prepped for a third AC.

That clears up the concerns that the a.c. ducts were in a horseshoe, they appear totally separate to me!

It was great to be able to see a lot of the construction detail on our Redwoods during the plant tour, sure answered a lot of questions.

That is awesome - thanks. I still use Dave's factory assembly pics to figure stuff out on mine.

Definitely one of the things that I thought would be useful for owners. Access to a bunch of photos like this for when something goes wrong or if we want to modify something.

Do you mean to tell me you have a 2015 RW that requires roof replacement? What happened?

Yessir! When we done the PDI i noticed 50 cent to silver dallor size bubbles all over the roof. I brought it to their attention. The dealer didnt think it was a problem. But noted it. I have had multiple warrenty issues. So i looked again and things were no better actually got worse. So they just approved a new roof. Now I am very nervous. I don't trust this process at all.

Sounds like the Alpha roof material will have to be removed. I doubt that any of the RV Armour or similar roof material installers would want to put their material over a roof with problems like yours.

I would be leary about letting just anyone replace your roof. Been there, done that! If there is any way you could get it to the Service Center for roof replacement that is the way to go. I had 2 slide roofs replaced by the Service Center because a Dealer messed them up. The Service Center was able to replace the roofs back to "factory new".

Yikes! I am so sorry to hear that. Don't blame you for being nervous either!
Someone here already recommended that you see if you can get into the Service Center here, which would be great if you don't mind the wait time. (Not sure if the RV is live-able or not for the time being). If you end up needing to take it to a dealership, please shoot me a private message and I'd be happy to do some research and find you a dealer with a strong service department in your area! Just keep me updated :-)

I would agree with Rick and Christian. I would take it to the service center and let them take care of it and skip all of these aftermarket remedies. They just screwed up on yours when it was originally installed and they will place it back to like-new condition. There is no reason this roof system should not provide you a lifetime of service.

How do I go about setting that up? I don't even know where the service center is exactly. At this point I would most likely be a way ahead of the game if I took my losses and moved on. I have owned this RW for 15 weeks. I have only had it in my possession for 5 of those weeks. Most of this has to do with the dealership. However had the quality control at the assembly line been what it should there would have been no need to have to take it back in for this much warranty work.

Where is the "like" button? Randy is truly the unsung hero at Redwood.

Megan, service center is in Topeka, Indiana & is a Crossroads center. I would call & make an appointment asap, they are fantastic, then tell your dealer where to stick it, 10 of 15 weeks is totally unacceptable.
Maybe Christian can provide you a phone number & contact.

Got up on my roof yesterday and found bubbles all over from front to back - there may be a hundred or more. If you step on them, they move which leads me to believe there is a problem with the adhesive. Our rig is just nine months old however I did not notice the bubbles in the spring when I was last up there. It also looks like the only fix might be replacing the roof and I too would only trust this to the service center. I just got back from Elkhart last week after upgrading the suspension to IS after having a failure of a shackle bolt, bent hanger etc. so I am not real anxious to turn around and go back right away. We are based in Pittsburgh about 350 miles from Topeka and no dealer within 250 miles. I will be in touch with RW this week and see how this problem is handled.
