residential refrigerator refit

I would like to know if anyone has refit the new or newer residential refrigerator instead of the Norcold. We would like to see how painful it will be to remove and reinstall the residential refrigerator as well as the extra battery and requisite inverter........ do any of you think that our dealers could do that as well as the disk brake option.........

Thanks

Jim

MANY people all over the net put in residential fridges....

get an apartment sized one that will fit in the opening,
run some wiring,
bigger 6 volt batteries,
consider solar to power it... etc...

Jim,

Here is a thread with replacing an existing fridge with a residential

http://www.redwoodowners.com/forums/...=fridge&page=4

We have a solar system and 1500W pure sine wave inverter, which was dealer installed. Got good pricing at the local RV show.

I didn't replace the Norcold, but I did replace my Dometic. The Samsung I installed was a perfect fit. About 3/16" on the left and right and about 1" on top. A little bit of trim and it looks like factory. I finally installed a 600w inverter a couple of weeks ago and it is powering the entire circuit. The only issue we have had was when my wife tried to use the toaster the pantry circuit. Now I need to change circuits for that outlet. It took my wife and I about 2 hours to remove the old fridge and woodwork. When the delivery guys brought the new fridge, they slipped it right into the opening. Removed the vent in the back, plugged it in, and replace the vent cover. No sweat.
