Removing Fireplace, noisy fan

So before I break something, does anyone know how to remove this electric fireplace? It’s a bit noisy, thinking I’ll try to lube the fan.

I don't know what year or model of Redwood you have but the fireplaces are pretty much the same. There are four wooden plugs covering the screws in the face of the wood on the sides of the fireplace. I got the plugs out by pre drilling a very small hole in the center of the plug and driving a small wood screw in just enough to be able to pull out the plug with a pliers. Once the plugs out and the four screws are removed the wood from around the fireplace can be removed. This exposes the fireplace mounting screws and will allow you to carefully remove the glass from the front of the fire place. Be sure to vacuum out the cavity behind the fireplace as it's usually full of junk from construction of the unit. There may also be a sub-woofer back there. I fastened down my subwoofer with Velcro before putting everything back together. The fire place fan is probably mounted poorly or just rubbing. Reuse the same wood plugs and putty the holes from the screws you used to pull them out. Hope this helps. Have fun.

On mine the front lifts up to expose the mounting method.

Do you mean the flat wood trim (that I marked in yellow in the picture) needs to be removed? Looks like mine is nailed on with finish nails instead of screws with plugs. No big deal to pull it but I wanted to confirm before I yank it off.

Try this:
Ours has two screws in the bottom corners, once removed the metal frame lifts off and you can then access the screws holding the fireplace in place.

Thanks MHS, but I’ve looked and can’t find such screws. I have about 3/8” gap between the fireplace glass sides and the wood trim, no gap at the top, an about 1.5” at the bottom. Not sure where those screws are so assume I must remove the side wood trim to access. Sound right?
