Quality control issue

We purchased out RW back the weekend of mother's day. Stayed in it for 3 nights then came home and took in for some unfinished things which are still unfinished warranty work. Our RW stayed with the dealership for one month. We are now in it for our second day. Now we have another issue which I believe I have taken care of. But tell me why the factory installers would caulk the two upright sides of the shower stall door but not down at the bottom? after the shower mat being soaked again. And me fussing at the DW about not closing the door all the way I get down on my knees, seems I am doing that a lot these days. I can see that the entire bottom track was not sealed on the inside or the outside. WOW!!! hopefully we got it fixed.

This seemed to be an issue in the earlier days of Redwood but I have not seen a lot of this in the past year or so. I have a 2013 31SL which was taken back to dealer twice for the same problem and I finally decided to fix it myself and caulk it properly. Been leak free ever since.

We had to caulk ours too, but it seems now that it does not want to drain out of the "cutout" holes in the tracks. We did caulk it on the inside shower side and at both ends of the track.

They caulked down one side of the shower but none anywhere else, none on door or any of the other edges.

It's funny, after two attempts by the dealer to fix mine I finally got down on my knees (baby boomers hate that) and could see light under the door channel. No caulk at all for 4 inches on the bottom track. I had to spend 3 hours removing the old junk that the dealer attempted to use and then clean it all up and then I taped the track and the shower base so I could leave a straight line of caulk and not fill the drain slots in the track. I am experienced in using 100% silicone caulk but I will say the positions I had to get in to in order to accomplish the task were comical to say the least. I think it took me longer to get out of the positions than to get into them!!!!................and they were painful too!!!! Sometimes I think a simple shower curtain would be best.

We have a new38gk had to caulk rail on both sides also drill a small hole at the front rail to let the water drain back to shower. Bad set up. Doors I think should reverse in the tract to keep the water out. Oh well

drill a small hole at the front of the track to drain the water. It worked on our 38gk.

I agree with you on the door situation. Many forum participants have complained over the last 2 years about the doors being the wrong doors. They should be facing the other direction so the spray doesn't enter between the doors when the shower is being used. Redwood just doesn't seem to get it.
