Main Slideout Exterior Seal Not Sealing

2017 Redwood 3901MB

On the main slide, curb side, the exterior seal for sealing when slide is in/closed does not make contact with the side of the trailer. There is about 1/4" gap between the slide gasket and the side of the trailer. The front of the slide pulls up tight, as does the street side main slide.

Any tips for pulling the rear in tighter?

Sounds like the rear gear pack has jumped a tooth or two. When the slide goes out does it have the same gap to the interior wall both front and back??

If I recall the main slide has a adjustment to move it in closer to the trailer or out on just one of the arms. I think on mine the front arm can be adjusted in or out. All so the hydroic ram has a adjustment to control how much it can push or pull the slide in or out. Like the post above its also possible the gear on the rack and pinion to keep the rear arm in time may have jump a tooth. Did you get a shoe or something stuck when you pushed the slide out ? If so it may have jumped . If mot maybe you can see where a bolt has moved or the bracket that attached to the slide wall may have bent. DONT ask I have see both happen , lesson learned dont be in a rush to pull out of the camp site.

Several adjustments can be made on the hydraulic slides. You should be able to download instructions from Lci website. A word of caution however.......make small adjustments and then move slide in and out several times before making additional adjustments. Remember any adjustments you make for the outside will also affect the inside.

If you go online you can find video on how to do this. You will have to partially disassemble the gear on the rear rack. Then push/bump the slide, 1or 2 teeth closer. I had to do this on my street side. You will need a jack to take the weight off the gear. It took maybe 15 minutes, by myself.
