So I was disconnected the ice maker to drain and winterize it, and I noticed the Norcold factory was really sloppy with wrapping wire around everything and I hand to unwind it from the connection. THEN it dawned on me.....

The Norcold part of the ice maker is heat traced with 12V heated wire on the outside. The hose is encased, but the extra wire is wrapped around the solenoid connection - duh.

Unfortunately, that is where it ends. Beyond the insulation wrap, there is no heat for the water line under the slide.

We wrapped the exposed line under the slide with foam pipe wrap and just turned it off in the winter. No issues.

ya - the factory does that now. The Dealer said just shut the valve off under the sink and drain the line if using it in freezing weather.
