Heat Pump about to bite the big one ??

Ok oh learned and wise colleagues, here's the question of the day.

Our coach was 7 years old last month. All in all a great coach and we don't foresee changing her for a different one. However, like all of us, she is starting to need some replacement parts. Lol

It's that time of year here in northern Arizona at the Lake that we need the heat pump at night. Last couple of nights, intermittently, when the heat pump comes on there will be a high pitched squeal. Not like a bearing noise when the fan motor starts to die, but more a squeal like a high pressure air leak. Shut the unit down, start it again, and it may or may not come back. Heat output is fine and same as always.

Have also run unit on fan only and all seems normal so I'm kind of thinking that the compressor is starting to give signals that it may want to go see its ancestors.

Any opinions ?

Did you replace the air conditioner with the heat pump? We have a new one arriving friday. Any thoughts on the install? Tips? Tricks? We are doing it ourselves.

If it only does it in heat mode and not AC its most likely the reversing valve getting stuck, it may stop making noise if it gets used more often/

Sorry, I probably was not explaining myself well. I wanted to know if they had actually replaced the entire a/c with heat pump. A new one arrived a day early. My son-in-law is coming over this evening and the guys are going to tackle the replacement.
